Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used the below, never knew there was an actual tool.

I will let you know which technique I used when I get the car back from a all wheel alignment today.

Suggestion
just disconnect the struts and have someone hold the hood for you for the 5 seconds it's going to take you to remove the wiper using the tool

I just followed the instructions from this video when replacing the cowl trim
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need an assist in replacing driver side (U.S.) wiper arm. Have taken off the nut, but the arm is on there good and I can't get my Schwaben wiper arm removal tool in there because the hood won't lift all the way out of the way. Do I need to take off hood struts and open hood or have you got some easier hacks? Wiper arm is 22 years old and original. For those of you looking to shave some wind resistance off your rig, but want to keep the wipers on, the new ones are completely smooth with no rivet hold the springs in place. For me, it's pure vanity.
Try any of the low-profile tools, the ones that look a bit like junior ball joint separators. I just did this when I refinished the fading plastic cowl trim.
I have bought several of the special wiper removal tools., some work better than others but some cases where they can do damage, or just won't fit, I resort back to my hand technique..
Grab the wiper at the hinge and use leverage 3-4 inches from the shaft, pull up then push down ( with equal force) 2-3 times and it will pop off. ( force as necessary) ...I have never had one I couldn't remove with this technique, but I'm sure there is one out there somewhere...
When I took the wiper arms off my Cayenne I used this gear puller tool:

Removing wiper arms is the first step to change the front upper control arms.
I use a battery terminal puller. I agree that the hood is a PITA on the 996 D/S. Luckily mine wriggled off using a technique similar to

As someone who doesnt enjoy brute force as the way, for most car things, I try other options. And using a universal puller, I was able to pull the wipers off the car. Ive used this on other cars, though it took a little creative positioning for the driver side arm to get around the hood strut.
[Edit] This was on my 992. But since I found this thread when searching for removing wiper arms on a 911, I suppose this could be helpful to you all as well
Little late to the party, but I was able to pry the wipers off my 997 without special tools--but only after several spirited hammer taps with a microfiber towel protecting the bolt head. Even soaking in PB didn't seem to help.
I removed both nuts and tried the rocking method but, in my case, there was a small rust bond between both arms and splines that I needed to shock loose to remove.
Car was originally from Denver and appears to have braved a dozen salty winters without being hosed down. With the wipers off, I've literally stripped her down to the chassis to remove any trace of rust. That being said, engine has 170K miles without a rebuild, significant bore scoring, or IMS issue so I'll take it!
So, if anyone has rust in weird places and the wiggle method doesn't work, a little shock may do the job.
