Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Folks as per the title, I am seeking a bit of advice, I am about to join the community, having been lurking for a couple of weeks!
Have finally decided to purchase a 996C4S convertable ideally in black with black and satnav, bose, parking sensors, sports heated seats (are these perforated?) turbo alloys and red calipers.
I am seriously considering a seal grey 04 plate at Stratstone Porsche with 37000 on the clock having had 3 owners eith a 'Carrera performance kit' but it's up for £38990, seems steep? What is the performance kit? the Sales guy was rather vague, is it worth having?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John
Agree with Sundeep, it's probably £12-£15k overpriced. I only paid £37k for my 2004 C4S 18 months ago before the prices fell through the floor. Give them a wide berth, they're dreaming!!

Welcome to the forum, it's a great time to buy

Cheers Guys for the amazingly quick replies, that car does seem overpriced, as I thought. Ihad my heart set on a 4 is there much difference to a 2? would love a 997 but wouldprefer an 'S'
John
£39k for a 996 is taking the proverbial. The difference between the 2 and the 4S is that the 2 is narrow bodied whereas the 4S is wide bodied and has a lot of the Turbo (non engine) parts - brakes, front spoiler etc.
If we are talking 997, the 'S'also had a 3.8 engine (I think)
Have to say, I love the look of the 996 C4S Cab.. But for that money you could get into a 996 Turbo Cab !
Welcome to 911uk By the way. - :bye:
