55k private sale, 52/53k trade in, dealer advertises for 60k. Having said that you might get lucky and sell for more given lack of available cars and summer.
I just had my car mot,ed and another two tyears warranty put on her.The warranty expires in Novemvenber, so it now has 29 months warranty
Gt3, full electric comfort seat, sat nav, Extended leather includes , air vents, rear veiw mirror, center consol, and full dash. Car is white with Black gloss wheels from factory, and PCCB brakes. Passed all of the Rev tests. 17,500 miles. 2 owners including myself.
What would be a realistic price guide?
Thanks Darren

Maybe a year ago, prices on these have moved on I feel, I'd say put it up for 65k-70k private sale and it will go if it's as nice as you suggest, and as you say it has over two years Porsche warranty on it which is better than any indi dealer will offer warranty wise.
There are very limited supply on these and for the money nothing comes close, my pal just paid 110k for a left hand drive challenge stradale 360 and nice as it is, it isn't twice the car a 997GT3 is.
Oh and one more fire in a 991 and these will be in even greater demand.
I'm very interested to read peoples view on this. I have just bought an almost identical spec car. Perfect condition - never even driven in the rain and only 10,000 miles. Only downside is I have to sell my Cayman R to buy it and I am not sure it is the right thing to do.
Trade offer would be 40k to 45k max.
Being a comfort will turn some people away.
Quick sale private would be 50k or you could put it up for a silly price like quite a few others at the mo and sit on it for a while.
When the 991 gt3 finds it feet prices will drop, in my opinion prices are being driven up due to the current 991 gt3 engine fault.

Nah, thats wrong. Two years ago maybe.
Take it to a dealer and he will soon find its real value.
991 gt3 and then the 991 gt3 rs will have a real impact when they hit the roads and tracks. There will be quite a few 997 owners looking to move into something newer.
Bubble is going burst buy wisely!

this is too low, the comfort could reduce by approx. 2k but as above this is pricing from 2 years ago, 991 gt3 does not drive these used prices as much as you might think, a new one is approx. double the price, you also have people who hanker after a manual and an engine that wont catch fire
Does anyone think that the current problems with the 991 gt3 will end up putting people off moving up from a 997?
If so will this then effect the values of the 991 gt3?
That's correct Peter, I said that.
I have nothing to hide.
Little confused why you would take the time to look through all my old posts and re post that mind????
I'm guessing you think the green 997 gt3 rs at 189k is a bargain then!
Dealers / owners are trying to drive up there prices due to the current problems of the 991.
189k for a used 997 gt3 rs or by a new 991 gt3 rs and have a change in the bank.
I know which one I would go for!

Not according to the current 15k+ premium......this could also increase following realised improvements of 'new' rs engine and restricted supply of 132 UK cars widely regarded as underpriced....
The two cars are chalk and cheese....analogue restricted user v digital daily hence one has little bearing on the price of the other......witness 90k+ paid for 4 year old gen 2s very few for sale v 100k list for basic 991 GT3 all sold with waiting lists.

All six of them.
These threads are such b
ks!
People who want one will say its worth tuppence
People selling them will say they are worth all the gold in China
Meanwhile people who own one will be thinking "if I sold it what can I replace it with?" - This is the question I am asking myself and I still don't know the answer!
My car is a similar spec to the OP's and the price I would put on it is 60k
Having said that, I would not sell it for 60k as I don't know what to replace it with - nor would I want to.
I am in a similar position.
Mine is a 997.1 GT3 CS with ceramics in cobalt blue with 23k on the clock.
It still has its Porsche warranty and I will be sticking the 2 year extended warranty on it in September.
Options are to keep it for another 2 years or sell it, but have no idea what to replace it with as they aren't making any modern cars that come close or excite me.

It wouldn't surprise me if you have already had a number of PMs with offers over 60k.
These things just seem to have dropped out of the classifieds, when they do appear (unless they have a story) they sell in days.
As much as I hate to face up to it, the mkt has moved about 20% upwards in the last 12 months.
The two big questions (already asked above) are
What will it be worth at the end of the summer (a further 10% rise up or back down to last years levels of circa 50k)
What would you replace it with....when 991 GT3 deliveries start in earnest again (about now) we could see a few more of the cars in between your car and the new 991 GT3 come on to the mkt as many take a step
up
the performance ladder
So GT3 RS, GEN 2 GT3, GEN 2 RS.....

I just got lucky with what i typed, i didn't check your posts at all, but from your post on price it seemed that was your thought, seems i was correct.
Green RS is well overpriced, in fact the difference behind the wheel is so little bettween the .1 GT3 and .1 RS that the .1GT3 was at the time rated the car to buy by all the magazines, the only difference is really a wide body shell and slightly wider track, plastic rear window, and a single mass fly wheel, and a bigger rear wing, other than that they are the same car, same engine exactly.
That dosn't mean i dont fancy a green RS though and regret not buying the 9000 mile mint example i was offered a few years ago at 75k which would have been a stretch at the time, they look the nuts but i would not pay the premium people want for one, unless i won millions of pounds, then who cares, have what you want it's only money and if youve got more than you can spend what does it matter?
Unfortunatly i dont have enough money to think like that so cant have one.
Ho Hum
Well i went to mclaren in London this morning, weather was pouring. The car i drove was a one off Lamborghini green paintwork. The fist thing that amazed me when we pulled out of the underground car park and stopped at the lights, was the amount of people who took pictures with ther phones. The car is very low, but doesnt feel as wide as a Ferrari 458.Very eary to drive slowly in London traffic. I started in auto mode and the gear changes are so smooth.Suspension in normal also. It absorbs the bumps really well. A lovely ride.Far softer than my GT3. I did manage to open her up on a stretch of the M4. Wow, it has got some power.Only a hint of turbo lag and the gear changes are lightning fast. These all change when in normal, race or track mode. I was really impressesed with the car. When i got home i got my GT3 out. Two things stood out. The brakes on the mclaren felt a bit wooden, they fely either on or off, not like my carbon brakes that have so much feel. Also the steering feels more alive on the GT3. You can feel the camber changes and it feels more resistants as you ride the bump. Dont know if the mclaren ha electric steering.
The car i drove was 230,000 including all the carbon extras and 10,000 one off paint. It has been offrd to me fro 145,000. The car is a December 2012 model. 17 months old, thats a lot of depreciation. How much would it be worth in another 2 years time. Is it worth 85,000 more than my GT3?
I will have to have another longer drive to decide.
Thing is what do you replace a GT3 with? I've been tempted by offers on my GT3 but what is the point in selling when I can not fathom how to replace it?
My car has done 9000 miles in 7 years and 1500 miles in the week since I've owned it!
991 GT3 does not interest me in the slightest.

Sorry Tom, it wasn't spiteful, though I did say earlier in the thread they were worth more...

I'd say private sale 56-58K!! I sold mine last year for 48k it was 2007 with 19000miles buckets mint (you win some you lose some)
so did I 12mnths ago. To me the right price is 50k end of
I phoned the Virgin car within 1 hour of it going on the web and had the option of putting a hold deposit on it.
Decided I would try and hold out for lower mileage and ownership, is a nice car though good spec.
I would have been prepared to pay 62k and the fact that it went so quick shows the demand is there, having said that the silver one is still for sale privately?
I'm not to keen on PCCBs for fear of the cost of replacement rotors am I worrying for no good reason?
How often due people get issues with them?
The silver car has had a lot of owners who have got rid very quickly, including the current owner selling after a month, might be a great car, might of even sold and the seller not removed the advert.

can't say i agree, when we sold our cars that what they where worth, now their worth more!! If i had mine now i would't be takin 48 or 50K for it, but at the time i was happy and moved on and i'm still happy.

fair play there has been an 'uptick' in all prices I agree. Always some chancers about though
I'm the owner of the silver one !
I thought it would have gone by now. Plenty of calls from dealers as you would expect but not so much from private buyers.

Yes have to agree there is some people (lots of people) who think their cars worth more than it is!! When we sold our cars we got a fair price at that time, coulda held out for more but I Could't be assed selling it my self!!

Ok then can I buy your 996rs for £60k please because that's what they were selling at retail a couple of years ago, pm me your account details for me to transfer the deposit over?..
Of course I can't and that doesn't make you a chancer it just means the market has moved up, maybe it will come down again, I don't know, you don't know so we have to deal with what it is at the time, and at this time GT3 cars are on the up.

Some reasonable sense?

Bit of a marmite colour, I like it and that's a bargain with the mileage, how long do we give it....
Or maybe the craziness is only for bright ones with an RS sticker?
Does the spec not reflect the price?
No buckets, not a cs, no pccb (not everyone's cup of tea but one would expect to pay more with them)
Still looks well priced though even allowing for all that !

Out of interest what kind of money were the dealers offering?
Just the one, £47k from Swindon Porsche where I bought it.
Lots of calls from indies but I'm not interested in SOR, I want to drive it until it's sold. I've got a couple of months until we move so I'll see how it goes.
I've had quite a few calls from one of the less popular ones, I think we all know who it is. They seem to be quite on the ball, when I put the ad up within 20mins they called and then when I edited it a few days later another call. Its like they have signed up to some alert scheme !
From previous experience an OPC needs to make around 8k on a car of this value. Obviously they have quite a lot of expensive's eating into that figure, car prep, warranty and day to day running costs of there business. I guess there actual profit is around 3k if all goes well with the car prep.
I have just sold my Boxster on piston heads. I had offers which differed by 5k on a 20k car! A number of specialists tried to by it and there offers were all the low ones? The OPC where I purchased the car new made an offer which was quite attractive but advised me to put it up for sale privately for a few thousand more. Sold to the first chap you viewed.
My advise would be add a 2 to 3k to the trade price and there lies your private sale value.
I'm sure others will say different!
P.s if anyone wants a lovely 2012 plate Cayenne I have one for sale at the moment on piston heads!

As I said prices have 'ticked up' I don't dispute that as has the value of my car but 'chancers' mean exactly that from both a buyers and sellers point of view

Nice car yours. I watched it on the OPC site for a while a few months ago ( I think it was at £57k ish). I would imagine they would put it back up at £60k now.

I think they had it in the showroom over the winter at that price but they ticked it up when I started looking in March.
