Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the front brakes on my turbo, are they 6 pot and the rears 4pot?

POST 2Original post

4-pot front & rear for the standard Turbo. 6-pot on the GT3 and Turbo S (with ceramics).

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

god, thought that stopping was not as good as i thought! why did they not put 6 pots on, on my last car rb320, i took the brembo's off and put ap's on, it was a revelation the difference that these made, and they saved me twice from certain accidents because of there stopping power over the brembo's! i take it it's the same with the ceramics over normal porsche brakes?

POST 4Original post

Ceramics are in a league of their own, but I find the standrd 4-pots fine. There aren't strongly servo-assisted, to give more feel, so you need a lot of pedal pressure, but if you step on them they are very effective.

POST 5Original post

... or try Alcon six-pots. Followed shortly by peeling your face off the inside of the windscreen. [&:]

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

can these be fitted over the disks already on the car, or do you have to replace disks as well, and how much are these.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

we tried to get a car with them on, but never managed to find one unfortunately, i have been a bit light with the pedal since i have had the car, ap's were very aggressive when pressed firmly[ ]will have to stamp on them a bit harder.

POST 8Original post

(Edit: sorry, misread your post): No. It's a full upgrade of discs and pads. Get in touch with JZM at Kings Langley. They did the ones on my car for the previous owner. Ask for the GT2 6-pot front brake conversion. Discs are Alcon, pads are Pagid and the brake lines are replaced. Total price was £2300 ish + vat in 2006.
