Suggestion

The ignition-on goes to any circuit that's 12V when the key is turned to ON, but the engine-running should get 12V only once the engine is actually running.

I'm installing an electric power steering pump (the TRW pump used by lots of others). The pump has two activation signals - "ignition-on" and "engine-running". The ignition-on goes to any circuit that's 12V when the key is turned to ON, but the engine-running should get 12V only once the engine is actually running. This is to prevent the EPS pump from killing the battery. Its suggested to connect engine-running to the alternator output signal, unfortunately that's in the back of the car and the pump is in the front. Does anyone know a convenient signal in the front trunk that goes to 12V only once the engine is running? -js
