I had the same “complaint” about the shifter action after getting mine (about the only complaint I had on the car) and installed the Numeric shifter….it’s fantastic, albeit pricey, but well worth it IMHO.

It was an a dealer installed option from what I understand so some cars have it and some do not.

The drive was amazing even with traffic, she drives like a brand new car and I don�t want to change a thing about her, even better than I imagined.

I think it could use some spacers or better offset wheels.

I finally brought her home today! I flew from Florida (gig) to Long Island and drove her back to DC. The drive was amazing even with traffic, she drives like a brand new car and I don�t want to change a thing about her, even better than I imagined. I�m so glad I made the right decision. I don�t know what was going on with the 997 I drove a few weeks back but this car is better in every way! The Jahre 40 is my perfect car..

Stopped at target for a phone charger and mount. Scary feeling to leave her in the parking lot even for just 5 minutes!
Open road, for a little while anyway.. amazing how she just loves to hold insane speeds!

Congrats! Now go rack up some more miles. The driving experience is so rewarding it's easy to do! There are some nice roads heading towards Sugarloaf mountain you might enjoy.
not much for now.. perhaps a fister exhaust as I would like a bit more exhaust note and likely I�ll upgrade to the pccm+ but might wait for an update on that unit. I thought the suspension was a bit high but I love how it drives and feels so I don�t want to mess with it. If I come upon some sport seats in gt silver, I would ****** them up in a heartbeat! The shift action is a bit long but honestly, it feels so fresh that I�ll wait till it wears out and then go with a numeric.

You can try to get the RoW M030 springs with some koni special active shocks which would be cheaper than that kit.
I went with an aftermarket HU over the PCCM plus due to price.
You can always install the 997 ssk shifter which is a lot shorter but still oem. The numeric is a rifle bolt action type engagement.
Beautiful car. I always think of my GT Silver as the color of Beskar. This makes sense, because when you drive one, �This is the Way��.😄
Check out RennClassic for their power tap, and hazard switch phone mount. They, along with the IMS Solution, and Bluetooth upgrade have been the best things I�ve done to my 40AE. The Porsche rubber mats are very nice as well. Enjoy that car!

Congrats on the car. Looks awesome! I also bought my C4S from RFMC back in 2021. Very good buying experience overall - actually more smooth than any other. He has great inventory. A little pricey but he tends to have very good examples as evidenced by your car. Good luck with it !
Fister exhaust? Doesn�t your car come with PSE attached to the X51?
The X51 with PSE has a different tone/sound and seat of the pants power boost at 6k and above that is noticeable.

nope, sadly mine was not equipped with pse. That and the sport seats should have been standard on the Jahre but some reason weren�t. A shame as I couldn�t find one anywhere with that combo� gorgeous targa you have there, love the gt3 wheels!
40AE cars did not come with PSE from factory. It was an a dealer installed option from what I understand so some cars have it and some do not. Also, the Sport Seats were actually standard equipment - my car has them. For some odd reason, most customers selected the comfort seats, which came with seat memory. I guess that was the hot feature at the time?
I just purchased the gt3 wheels for my 40th ae. The previous owner installed a gt3 wing so it will certainly give it the aggresssive looks of a gt3 with a more reasonable price tag. I'll upload photos when its done.
My other NA porsche is a 2003 c4 cab with the x51, pse, and m30. I added a 997 shifter and ipd plenum. I'll be honest. The c4 sounds and drives much better. Although it will never be worth what the 40th ae will be, its much more enjoyable. Not having pse was a huge miss on the 40th cars. Even more so on the 996 turbos. If I decide to keep this car long term it will need an ipd plenum, exhaust, shifter, and new suspension.
