Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But I don't see any need to change the fenders just to get a different look for the bumper

Suggestion

Since I consider the Cayman's foglights/spears to be the its least attractive feature, this change seems very nice to me.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Wouldn't it be great to have a Cayman with the new 997 front? http://www.ullrich-exclusiv.net/boxster_986to_optic_carrera_997.phtml

POST 2Original post

hmm. undecided on the face lift. good thought probably not my style

POST 3Original post

Not bad! But I wouldn't bother. Cayman's stock front looks just as good to me.

POST 5Original post

I wouldn't put that nasty front bumper on my Cayman.

POST 6Original post

Maybe I'm weird but i like it the way it is. I do not want it to look like the 911, its not a 911. If i liked the looks i would have bought a different car.

POST 8Original post

I dont think it will look good on the Cayman S.

POST 9Original post

In other words a 997 wannabe? No thanks. I'm really quite happy with the current look.

POST 10Original post

I've caught your dissatisfaction with the fog light spears before. Have you considered a Boxster front end -- same headlights etc. The Boxter front end looks like the 911, though. So maybe you would rather have the fog lights moved to the headlight cluster?............yes, now I think I've got it. Then the two lower intakes would be dedicated to the radiators--the look being sought when blacking out the spears.......mmmmm, I like it, call PAG.

POST 12Original post

Fadi: At least I'm consistent in my dislike of the fog/spears - that isn't always true with me; at my age sometimes I can't remember which side of a discussion I used to be on. I'm going to go with the black-painted fogs/spears on a Carrara White car (much the cheapest solution).

POST 13Original post

I agree with my compatriots, I do not want to be a 911 look a like. I personally prefer the look of the CS to the C2. The CS has lines that are complimented by the way the front bumper looks.

POST 14Original post

This 997 owner prefers the Cayman front end on the Cayman. Is there a way to fit the Cayman front clip to my 997?? J/K!!

POST 15Original post

the cayman front looks more aggressive cuz the headlights are angled perfectly. the 997 looks doofy and kind of like a vw beatle... the spears on the other hand... i can't comment on it

POST 16Original post

Cayman spears and other parts of its front bumper it's what makes it difference from boxster or carerra. i've met a few Caymans that i didnt realize it's a cayman until i saw the foglamp spears.

POST 17Original post

I think we should leave the facelifts to non-Porsche cars that want to look like Porsches.
