has anyone had any expierience installing lowering springs themselves,
or what is a fair cost for labor to pay someone else , not sure how complicated they are?
I was told that the entire rear interior has to come out to do the rear. Mine is at the dealer now getting the springs installed along with a tubi cat back exhaust. I'll let you know the hours charged
I have had quotes form $675 - $1350 including springs and alignment.
There's a great step-by-step article in the articles section posted by Adax. - Suneet
We put lowering springs on our 3.8 Cayman with PASM and the customer is very happy with the handling .We charge $1100 installed with Alignment.

Oh..good luck with getting an accurate answer on this. You asked the million dollar question!
There was an old thread on here somewhere about the cost of installation on springs...it ranged from $250 total to $1100 per wheel if I remember correctly!!!
So anywhere inbetween I guess
how much does it lower the cs , i iwll have 20"s will it fit?
It drops the car 1''.Have a look at the black car on my web site as that has them installed.

Neil,
What brand of springs do you use? Or do you produce the springs yourself?
Thanks,
Suneet
I am having a set of H&R springs installed on Nov 10th. The cost is $500 for the install and allingment. I purchased the springs on ebay for $215 including shipping. The shop is in Torrance California and they were recommended by Wheel Enhancement. I will let you know how it goes and will post some before and after photos.
I call the Eibach Corp. office in Corona Ca. and they are stating there are no springs made for the CS as of yet????
They have the eibachs on tirerack.com.
unless you have experience with spring installation I wouldnt recommend attempting the install on the cayman. I watched the install on mine and it was fairly complex. Its the rear springs that take all the work. Anyway, Eibachs are available, I have them on mine. However, you will get different answers because it has been debated if the Eibachs are cayman specific or the Boxster S springs. If a shop quotes you less than 500 bucks to install then I would be careful, they probably dont know how difficult the install is.
Yes...20's will fit after the spring install...as long as you have a properly fitted wheel.
The rears are a pain in the ***.
