Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I installed Ohlins on my 996 turbo and did not get the driver side rear sway bar mount aligned quite right.

Be sure to check the front struts with the wheels turned full lock in both directions and also compress the suspension to be sure nothing hits.

They do recommend rebuilds somewhere along this time.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 52,000 mile 40AE which Ill be installing hlins on soon. Other than potentially adjustable drop links are there any other suspension parts that should be changed while Im in there.
how do you test for serviceability of current coffin arms, etc.
thanks
Ive got Ohlins coilovers sitting in a box ready to go on my C4S in the next couple of weeks. My additionals list is: all control arms, tie rods, sway bushings, stabilizer links. So far at least thats the list.
Anything with a rubber bushing should be changed due to age. When I bought mine, the bushing were so bad that the rear camber could not be adjusted into spec. After replacing all the arms, It's comfortably in the middle of the adjustment range. Overall handling is a bit tighter, feel is better, but very difficult to quantify.
Be sure to inspect your Ohlin's every six months or so. My fronts started leaking right at 2 years. They do recommend rebuilds somewhere along this time.
Ahh I need to replace all my arms. My car is at 95k but my plan is to install the new shock/springs and all supporting components this phase and next phase will be all the arm, inner/outer tie rods and drop links.
77k. Most of the driving it does these days is auto-x though and soon to be track/hpde.
I bought it with 34k miles and its definitely not as precise/tight as it used to be, though motor mounts certainly helped.
When you install the Ohlins pay particular attention to the sway bar link position. Be sure to check the front struts with the wheels turned full lock in both directions and also compress the suspension to be sure nothing hits.
I installed Ohlins on my 996 turbo and did not get the driver side rear sway bar mount aligned quite right. The sway bar mount ended up breaking the vent tube from the front radiators to the reservoir when the sway bar mount hits the tube on a particularly large bump. Changing that tube is not fun. I had to drop the driver side subframe or drop the engine. The Ohlins are nice. Good luck with your installation.

Cool, thanks for what was answered. Is there any way to test suspension joints for serviceability?
anyone have the lower spare bushing for the rear shock? 12mmx14mmx42mm?? Only need one.
