Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Whenever I seem to see a 911 (of various models) being test driven on the tely, why do they always have HUL on the number plate??

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

27 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Morning all, Whenever I seem to see a 911 (of various models) being test driven on the tely, why do they always have HUL on the number plate?? Was just wondering! Cheers.

POST 2Original post

Because the plate is owned by Porsche GB and is normally put on turbos. They also own "911 GB" which has appeared on a number of GT3/2 used as a presscar or demonstrator. DAZ

POST 3Original post

cos Emu had snaffled the first 910 number plates.

POST 4Original post

911 HUL has also been seen on the odd non turbo such 3.2 club sport. Seems to move around quite a lot, two consecutive issues of 911 & PW featured completely different turbos, both had the same number plate.

POST 5Original post

Does HUL stand for or mean anything ...or was it the first plate with 911 that Porsche managed to get their hands on?

POST 6Original post

Don't think it stands for anything. Just a 911 plate they've owned for a long time. DAZ

POST 7Original post

If it's an early Turbo; Have Underpants Laundered. If it's more recent; Handful Until Lately. Oh God, what have I started?

POST 8Original post

Porsche used to own OPR 911 - again, I remember it on a really nice 911 Club Sport. Never quite understood the relevance, but may be the person who bought it was dyslexic

POST 9Original post

Nah , I think that was Ms Winfries personal motor....

POST 10Original post

HUL is for something, remember EVO mag doing a big Turbo special & it was mentioned in the text.....will try & find it. R.

POST 14Original post

I always thought HUL was short for Hulk, as in turbo, nutter, b d version

Off topic, but just reading this thread:- What happened to Dazren? Is he still around?

Pretty sure it was never available to buy .. It was produced by the Met Police stolen vehicle squad and I was issued it when I did my stolen vehicle examiners course Very handy at times as it would give you the VRO and dates of issue even with the latest style plates combinations are only issued on specific times

POST 27Original post

911 HUL has been around Clifton a bit recently, a certain Monkey Harris has had it for a while
