Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. MSRP starts at 100,000 euros.

At the heart of this mid-engine sports car lies the increase in displacement from standard 3,387 cm³ to 3,824 cm³. A modified intake manifold with special air filter system and an aluminum header provide ample combustion air. The perfect interaction of all these components including the fully stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with high-performance manifold is orchestrated by new mapping for the engine electronics.
With a maximum power output of 385 hp / 283 kW and a peak torque of 407 Nm the TechArt displacement engine satisfies both highly sporty minded drivers as well as those GT sport pilots who want lots of pulling power from low engine speed.[/quote]
Powered by this engine, the mid-engine sports car offers excellent performance: The sprint form 0 - 100 km/h takes just 4.9 seconds, and with a top speed of 285 km/h the TechArt two-seater easily bests its production counterpart in this discipline, too. The exhilarating performance is coupled with striking looks and refined aerodynamic properties. The TechArt GT sport front apron is designed to replace the production bumper. With its large air inlets and four auxiliary headlights it lends the two-seater a more dynamic appearance while reducing lift on the front axle at high speeds. I like the front, but the rear wing is TOO much. Hope Porsche is taking note at all theses 'Fast Cayman Types' and sees just how much cash they are losing! ...................Was shocked by the fact they did a base Cayman , i mean its great for the Performance Houses, they can buy a Cayman cheap and build on it. Come on Porsche...................Clubsport,.....+ LSD............ Cayman S with 325 bhp.....+LSD....... Cayman RS With 360 bhp light weight parts and a 7 speed DSG!

Tuner News: TechArt Re-refines the Porsche Cayman S

Date posted: 07-08-2006
LEONBERG-HOFINGEN, Germany — Just when you thought it was safe to take your old 315-horsepower TechArt Cayman S out for a quick spin, the Porsche tuning house has trotted out its latest development: the GTsport, an even hotter $138,000 edition of the two-place midengine coupe. This one's good for 385 hp and 300 pound-feet of torque — the result of an increase in bore size, with total displacement of the flat-six power plant growing from 3,387 to 3,824 cc, along with such modifications as a heavy-duty crankshaft, larger pistons, sport camshafts and a freer-flowing intake manifold. TechArt also has fitted a high-performance stainless steel exhaust system and manifold. Thanks in part to the car's light weight, TechArt says the GTsport can sprint from zero to 60 mph in less than 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 177 mph. TechArt also firms up the suspension system and offers a set of low-profile ZR-rated performance tires on its 20-inch Formula five-spoke alloy wheels. An aero kit includes a front apron with large air intakes and auxiliary headlamps, rocker panels, rear apron and rear wing. The interior treatment can be custom tailored to the buyer's taste, with a selection of leather, aluminum trim and other accessories. For more information, go to the TechArt Web site . What this means to you: And you thought the wizards at TechArt were through casting their spells on the Cayman.
Edited by - mpollard on 07/08/2006 11:03:23 PM

Without comparing the different engines on the same track the same day with the same driver it is really hard to draw any conclusions from these numbers. It may well be that these cars are faster than say 4.5-4.6, it may be that the lack of LSD is preventing good hook-up on acceleration, it could be the road conditions, the driver, who knows. Remember most of us won't get 4.8 0-60 times without dumping the clutch anyway. The laws of physics say the cars should be faster, how much faster will depend on a lot of factors.

POST 19Original post

Others on this forum are able to do 4.8 as well...
