Oh and my brake fluid was a tad over full after a recent 48k service nothing to worry about, just goes to prove how thorough they check the cars out.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

21 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Sat 8th October 2011National Porsche Coupe service clinic Dear fellow members, just a reminder, apart from the message for the Porscheshop event (frontrunner), the ongoing Porsche Cars GB Ltd (FOC) service clinic is nationally running next Saturday, normally invitations derive from the database at the PC however if you wish to attend and there is a workshop lift/technician slot available at your local PC then please feel free to apply for a place. Either call personally at your Porsche centre (PC), or to find your nearest by postcode vist www.porsche.com or telephone national Porsche helpline 08457 911911. NB Of course I cannot guarantee you a place but the event and the winter health/general inspection for your Porsche is detailed, worth @ £200, and you can Q&A your Technician/service advisoron your Porsche, and a quotation normally raised and presented on the day if anything is deemed unsatisfactory and hence the cost of correcting same quoted prior to departure, refreshments and hospitality noramlly provided, a good interesting workshop and showroom visit to your Centre, please do not bring your chequebook in case you come home with a GT2RS! Best regards Johnny McGirl 996RS/PCGB RD

POST 7Original post

Hi My Cayman 3.4S Tiptronic is all booked into Porsche Colchester at 12noon. Yours Truly Kevin.[ ]

POST 8Original post

Good point, is there anything a should specifically ask them to check. The car is in fine working order except for a random fuel smell.

POST 9Original post

Only if there is something specific you are concerned about. I don't want to go OT but where is the fuel smell coming from?

POST 10Original post

Helll yeah!, Like I said ask em to check your IMS LOL. Sit back and watch there nose grow.

POST 11Original post

Tried to book into Glasgow OPC, but no spaces left.....[ ]

POST 12Original post

A bit random, did a few miles today and no smell of fumes coming. Not sure if the really hot weather on that day had anything to do with it. But will monitor. Thx

POST 13Original post

Ahh ok cool. You shouldn't really smell when moving it if it's at the engine end, and you would notice a stained patch from the leak although it evaporates quickly. If it was in the car going through the vents you could check the tank and fuel fuel lines at the front end - it's just a case of removing the battery tray cover and battery + tray and you can access them. Anyway I will shut up now

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi C&T Sure your car will pass with flying colours, enjoy the event, hopefully see you for a caffe latte macchiatto, Gary advises myself that a good comprehensive day is planned for visitiorsand PCGB members alike and we can communicatel with the technicians on a 1 to 1 basis with and during the inspections, plus the bodyshop and showroom open for members to visit and enjoy along with the noram PCGB/PC Cambridge 996 Register/general PCGB hospitality. It is Denise's 50th tomorrow but I can hopefully travel over for a while and pour you a coffee with your all clear inspection report, if anything at all is wrong you can pour mine..I bet I end up doing the pouring! Best regards to all PCGB members and 996 Register members alike, please enjoy the Porsche national Coupe clinics and Porscheshop PCGB Frontrunner event tomorrow. Johnny McGirl

POST 20Original post

Feedback on my visit to West London. (More details to follow on my running report) Really impressed by the service at West London. Went round the car and found some things that I was not aware of: 1) Tiny leak on gearbox sump. (quoted £400) 2) Moisture detected on front rad (Did not get a quote) 3) Rear pads low 4) Screw found on corner of rear tyre (my pockets are now £450 lighter) I had to buy two new tyres as a result. Any one want to buy a part worn Bridgesone SO2 N2 285/30 18 tyre (The one without the screw) Spent an hour on the car and there was no hard sell. Will defo go again if offered

POST 21Original post

I think someone was waiting outside with a box of screws as I had the same thing but at Guildford! So: 1) 2 new rear tyres 2) Front shock absorber problem so waiting for a call today that its covered under warranty 3) Some corrosion on brake discs 4) Finally agreed to replace my rusty nuts under warranty! While we waited for the tyres to be done they had a driver there from the Experience Centre so we had a drive of a new Cayenne which passed the time. As a result I have a part worn Michelin Pilot Sport 265 35 19 N1 for sale, has about 4 to 5mm of tread. Aside from the unexpected tyre costs it was really interesting trip and a thumbs up for Guildford OPC!
