Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Rather than replace with the Porsche part that would go brittle again I got an 8mm (I think) brass straight connector from machine mart and 2 small jubilee clips as that won't go brittle and snap.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While digging around the engine bay for something unrelated, I managed to snap off a very brittle coolant hose. I can't identify it from the diagrams, but it's the one in the green circle (ignore red arrows). The hose seems to run above and disappear behind the engine – is this an engine out job to replace? :frustrated:

POST 2Original post

It's quite easy to break it off its mount, you will need to drain the coolant to that level but other than that it's an easy fix, it's just a 10mm head bolt holding in place, Part number 996.106.226.52

POST 3Original post

Been there and done that one too. Rather than replace with the Porsche part that would go brittle again I got an 8mm (I think) brass straight connector from machine mart and 2 small jubilee clips as that won't go brittle and snap. You can fashion a way to secure it on the remaining old pipe and clip or cable ties to the bolt to hold it out of the way of the belt.

POST 4Original post

I'm guilty as well .. you might need to dig out the old broken bit of plastic tube from the rubber pipes though .. either pry it out or crush it and pick out the bits .
