Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I searched a few different keywords to no avail. I have noticed over the past several thousand miles a hiccup in the engine when accelerating. Say for example I am cruising at 60mph, at the exact moment I push farther down on the gas peddle to acclerate I notice that the engine quickly "blurps" or "hiccups". Almost a hesitation, but very quick. Everytime it happens I can't help but to think this is not the way it should normally accelerate. I wondered if any of you have experienced the same thing and can provide some insight. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

No, haven't had that one, but it almost sounds like a MAF (mass airflow) or TPS (throttle positioning sensor) problem/calibration. Aside from taking it into a dealer, you might want to try and disconnect the battery (save all your radio settings, etc.) for about 10 minutes or so, then reconnect and start car. This usually forces a recalibration of the computer will all the sensors. If this doesn't work, off to the dealer.

POST 3Original post

atlas, thanks for the reply. great suggestion, i will disconnect the battery this morning before driving to work and see if that eliminates the problem. don't laugh but how do i save the radio settings?

POST 4Original post

I also notice two times over last two months. Is your car stock? If I recall correctly, I am in very high gear and the throttle is about 1/8.. I guess you might need the radio code as well..

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
