Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can't find the thread where I saw this being argued about, but this is a great video. They can vary a lot more than I realised for a customer specific tyre! https://youtu.be/COA630Juf_U

POST 2Original post

Yes, good video. It explains a lot. A few years ago there was a Michelin engineer posting on here saying pretty much the same thing, but not in the same detail. I guess an N rated tyre for a 911 is even more specific to the car due to the fact that the engine arrangement and weight distribution is so 'non-typical'!

POST 4Original post

Thanks pzero, that was the most recent thread I had in mind on this matter. Interesting things being raised! I don't think there is any evidence that N rated tyres are more expensive (or significantly so!) than a like for like non N rated tyre from the same manufacturer. In fact based on the video, a small premium may well be worth it. I suspect the only downside of an N rated tyre is availability!
