Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I've suffered, from new, an resonance/vibration as the RPMs fall on the overrun past 5k to about 4.5k. Its coming from the back, and was wondering if its the variocam changing over or a more serious issue. Doesn't sound like loose trim; more like something within the engine bay.

POST 2Original post

LOL my resonance is at the front, at exactly 2950rpm. Sounds like coins vibrating even though I have ZERO coins in the car. Clearest at 1st and 2nd gear, when engine is unloaded.

POST 3Original post

I had resonance at 4,000 for awhile but it went away (thank goodness). Sounded like a mosquito on steroids. Definitely came from the front although it seemed like it was resonating inside my head.

POST 4Original post

I have the same noise coming from the engine bay . . . as far as I can tell. I took the car to the dealer and had the service manager listen. He said, "They all do that." Let us know if you come up with a cause/solution.

POST 5Original post

Make sure it isn't the rear storage compartments next to the engine. Prop them open and see if you still hear it.
