I bought some 996 specific jack pads off eBay and cut slots in to fit my stands when using the jacking points.

I want to do some work on the rear of the car, a 996.2 GT3, so I'm thinking of mounting it on axle stands for the duration. The manual tells you where the jacking points are, but where should you place the axle stands?

Under the jacking points is the best place, the body is that stiff you can jack under the front and raise the rear enough to get a stand in. Or raise from the rear with a jack under the rear subframe under where the coffin arm pivot bolt is.
