Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used the auto store E clips on a wiper linkage application, our French spec LR Defender, and the clips worked great, but rusted terribly.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I feel bad for starting an all-new thread for this, but can anyone tell me what the part number is for the little clip that's missing in the photo below? It should exist within the red circle. It retains the pushrod that unlatches the clamshell.

POST 2Original post

Im unfamilure with the convertable stuff but here is the pet drawings https://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-..._911_parts.php Maybe just get an e-clip frim the hardware store. https://www.autozone.com/p/dorman-e-...store_set=true

POST 3Original post

I think it is this clip, but really any E clip above would work.

POST 4Original post

I'd spring (pun intended) for the Porsche part. I used the auto store E clips on a wiper linkage application, our French spec LR Defender, and the clips worked great, but rusted terribly. The Porsche clip shown also has more bearing surface, may or may not matter. Given the general aftermarket's parts quality, I have learned to go OE/OEM. Yes you pay more upfront but at least you know it is good...probably.

Found the part number ( 999-166-054-01) from this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...lam-shell.html Thanks everyone!

Just to close the loop. The retaining clip is tiny. It should be smaller than your pinky fingernail. Have no idea how it popped out.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
