Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

From reading past threads, it does not appear possible to replace the individual knobs and buttons.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2006 Cayman S. The rubberized covering on one of the air conditioning knob is peeling. I know there are other threads about this but they are old and didn't seem to have any conclusions. Any ideas. Cover up or replace?

I have the same problem. At first I thought it was something white stuck on the knob so I was picking at it and actually ended up making it worse
From reading past threads, it does not appear possible to replace the individual knobs and buttons. I thought about trying a black sharpie marker or even some black nail polish. It won't be perfect, but should be better than it is currently...?
Yeah, I made mine worse also. I think a sharpie or nail polish would be too glossy. If I have to repair I think some flat black paint and a fine brush would work. But I am worried that more will come off. Maybe super glue first???
I had Robbie from stickynomore refinish mine. Great job! Looks new again. I would highly recommend him, as opposed to doing it yourself. Turn around time was quick too.
Whoa, this is awesome news.

The end result looks just like factory. Apparently the texture isn't the same, but I'm OK with that.

I did recently paint the face of my stereo surround and a/c controls using the cdr-30 article. In doing so I learned how to remove the buttons you have peeling. IF you remove them it may save you some $$ from stickynomore. Just a thought.
NOTE, the buttons come out one way. Since both ends protrude past the faceplate you need to remove one end first, I forget which end but when you have it apart you can see the difference from the back. The same applies to putting it back together.
I did the same thing as Perkins. Luckily my white is only showing on straight flat section of knob. Going the try to mask and air brush flat section with flat black.
No no, is much more simple. Just have to stick the decals on top of your existing knobs. Takes 10 minutes. In their web site is explained, but they send an installation manual with the kit anyways

I´m so happy with the results because my car interior was in mint condition except for the peeling knobs and now is perfect again
Porscheaddicted, how long did it take between ordering and receipt? I ordered mine on 10/18, their website says it was shipped on 10/20, but as of 11/6 I still have not received it and they have not replied to my inquiries.
Did you ever get to install it?
Just got a newsletter a couple weeks ago, they are now selling replacement buttons for the air conditioning module! I ordered a set.

Has anybody got shipment notice of the replacement knobs? I ordered mine a month ago and still shows as being 'processed'. Sent an email asking for status and have not gotten a response. Their website did say that it'll ship in February but I was hoping that meant beginning rather the end.
I got mine already, I the ordered right after receiving the newsletter.
According to what other folks said in other forums, the later you placed the order, the later in February your order will be sent.

Ordered mine this morning from Climarepair. Just went on to check to see if the $99 offer was still good (when I purchased there were, allegedly, only 2 kits left for $99) and it's still good. I hope they sell 1,000,000 of the knob replacement kits. I was going to spend $150 to send them into another vendor for repaint, am very happy to be getting new knobs from Climarepair and can't wait to install! This is from their ad tonight:
Like I said, I hope they sell a bazillion of these things. Also hope I don't destroy anything trying to remove old buttons from HVAC,
