Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Get the car to a specialist to have it checked over before you drive it very much further.

Suggestion

Ideally, I wouldn't run the car at all, better to get this one checked out than I take guesses and scare you too much

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, could anyone give me advice on downloading a short video clip as my engine has a nasty noise which happened yesterday. I have tried to post it ( choose file, then uploaded file from my gallery) but no luck.

POST 2Original post

I had to upload a video clip of a nasty noise just before Christmas. Created a Youtube account, then posted link in the thread, took about 10 minutes.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Cleanhands. https://youtu.be/0EyL9bWvGaM

POST 4Original post

This does not sound like a good noise from that clip. Get the car to a specialist to have it checked over before you drive it very much further. I would say it is potentially severe enough to take immediate notice. Ideally, I wouldn't run the car at all, better to get this one checked out than I take guesses and scare you too much

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The car had the IMS done 2000 miles ago and the noise wasn't gradually so it cannot be bore scoring (hopefully not). To me it sounds like a bearing.

POST 6Original post

Yeah, does sound like a bearing IMHO, or maybe the water pump which is another weak point. Hopefully our resident mechanic Iain will offer his more skilled opinion :worship:

POST 7Original post

You could pop the serpentine belt off and run it again, this will help identify it if is an internal or external issue.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
