On my cat-less X-pipe I run two spacers on the down stream sensor.

I bought the Magnaflow cats to replace the dead originals.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone replaced their cat with a magnaflow? Much cheaper than Porsche OEM. Used ones - you don't know what it is your getting.
Thoughts?
I would totally get a used cat over an aftermarket cat. You can easily find them on marketplace, if you want just one, it's $300-$400, or just buy the pair. I actually just bought a pair of 996.1's so I could have them on hand in the case I need to replace one. I spent about $650 with shipping for them.
And why are you replacing it? Fault codes? Problems?
If you are just going to replace one with an aftermarket, I definitely would not do that.
I have had the Magnaflow cats for almost a year. Easy fit, good sound, no fault codes, very happy. There were some sloppy quality issues with them but nothing that kept them from working fine.

I keep getting the infamous P0420 and PO430 with greater frequency now days. I'm considering deleting the cats, i live in Texas so it will pass emissions etc..I've deleted the cats on my Challenger 6.4L and liked it. If i delete the cats, do i need to do something with the sensors as well? Assuming it's not as simple as just deleting the cats....
Deleting cats will not solve your fault code problem; you would need to also recode the ECU to no longer look at the downstream O2 sensors. Also, if you delete them, be prepared for vastly increased exhaust noise! Great if you want it, but might be more noise than you're expecting.
The noise isnt an issue but recoding the ECU sounds like a pain. I'll start with the duremetric and check Bank 1 and 2 Sensors in a live data stream to see how they're functioning.
Yes. Cat on bank 1 bad. Replaced both O2 sensors. Cleared code. Still throws a code within 20 miles. I live in a state that doesn't have inspections. Just bothers me with the lite reminder every time I drive it. Problem is making sure you don't buy someone else's bad cat off of ebay or marketplace.
You may be able use an oxy sensor extension to eliminate the code. FvD has a bunch of them. Below is a link, but do a deep dive to see the different shapes.

I've heard from a number of postings that cat extensions don't work. The outer O2 sensor location doesn't have much room. Had a hard enough time getting the new sensor in. Although the link to the sensor you sent looks much shorter. Have you installed any of these on your car?
On my cat-less X-pipe I run two spacers on the down stream sensor. The lower one is open ended, and the upper one has a smaller orifice drilled in it (dont recall what size I went with). Have no issues with the setup in the past 130K miles.
I run FVD 200 cell cats and sport mufflers w/ FVD extensions and they fit without a problem. They come in different sizes and shapes. There are many different manufacturers in addition to FVD to choose from.
I bought the Magnaflow cats to replace the dead originals. They are one of the few CARB approved designs. Ive had no issues.
Replace both at the same time. If one is dead, the other is very nearly dead.
I have the LN/Jake-Flat 6 cross over with cats.. Sounds amazing, half the weight unit is a benchmark for how exhausts should be made.
Key thing is its got very very high quality cats.. Most of the Magnaflow units I've seen in action lasted < 3 years if driven daily.
Engine compartment temps run lower with my LN setup as well. (about 15 degrees.)
I went with Soul Cats

I will figure out how to sell my og cats on this site in the next two weeks. There is nothing wrong with the og's and the car spent its life in SoCal until last year.
I am probably going to swap out the stock muffler for the Soul muffler as well. While I am completely grateful that my antique car is still supported by Porsche and aftermarket vendors, my dad and grandfather would have stopped talking to me for a week if they knew I'd plopped down $6K for mufflers and exhaust pipes. My dad was so proud when he bought a car that cost $5,000 when I was in high school.
<GRIN> Yep, in 1960 my dad bought a brand new corvette at the Chevy dealer in Denver, I think he paid like 3900 for it. Now its worth what? 200K?
My 69 911 T was under 6000 when new in 69, I sold it for 7K as a semi basket case in 1995. Scary where the money has gone in my life time.
The really sad about thing about Dad's car is I made exactly one attempt to do a half drift on a road. This move promptly put his pride and joy in a farmer's field with some damage that required the services of an autobody shop. I was racing motocross as a 125 expert at the time but normally drove his car in a way that Mom wanted me to drive. That car was one of those boats you could fit the 996 in the backseat.
