Suggestion

I always used to run my C2 at 36/44 and got perfectly even wear, but the ride is fairly harsh - especially with M030 sports suspension.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Over on the 993 forum their is a thread on tyre pressures... C4 suppose to be 36F 44R, but the discussion over on 993 is to run a few psi lower for even tyre wear and a less harsh ride... Any thoughts on the 996??

POST 2Original post

Porsche recommend 36F/44R on 18" wheels for a reason. My guess it is for optimum performance and even wear. [ ] I always used to run my C2 at 36/44 and got perfectly even wear, but the ride is fairly harsh - especially with M030 sports suspension. I played with it a bit, but I found that if I dropped the front pressure to 32 it made the car tramline worse on worn roads. I also tried the rears at 40, but to be honest, it made very little difference to the ride quality. No harm in trying it, but I personally wouldn't want to change them by more than about 10%. Bear in mind that any effects on wear will take a long time to manifest themselves. Just my 2p's worth.

POST 3Original post

Depends on your wheel size. When I upgrade to Mich PS2's about 2.5 years ago, the ride felt awful, but found they'd pumped the rears to 44psi, which is correct for 18", but not for 17". Reducing to the correct value for 17" (36psi afaikr) sorted it.
