Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Searched and didn't find any recommendations. Does anyone have a solution (besides swapping whole unit) for worn "Fan" and "Temp" selectors?

Not sure where you searched, but apparently you missed the following recent thread and Article:

Many thanks. I searched for "Climate button" and various other climate choices. (most threads were complaints, not solutions) Also checked "Electronics" seciton of How-To, didn't think to look in misc. That's what I needed to know.
I plan to take my switches out and send off to Stickynomore
That´s an easy one, but in my case I had to use the
sharpie
every other day, and got my fingertips black :hilarious:

I took the panel out and painted the switch levers with good results. It takes some time figure on a day, but it's not difficult it's just time consuming. Once completed you have the satisfaction of knowing the finish is better than what Porsche provided.
I've used Sticky No More for my radio buttons. Very happy with the quality, price and speed. Sent off knobs and they were back in a couple days better than new and without the concern it will happen again.
I'd caution against Clima Repair. Far away they're halfway decent looking but the action is not as slick as stock and up close they have a very crude finish. There is a long thread about them over at the ******** 997 forum which I wish I had read prior to ordering my set.
They sent a bad batch of buttons a couple months ago to several customers but I bought them 3 weeks ago and they look great IMO. Seems like they have released a new version according to their website:
Well, mine is the 'V1' version and looks similar to this picture below. It's not only the appearance that's an issue; these 3D painted buttons are also missing the small tabs in the back that lock the switches so they wobble inside the housing and one of the buttons I got was visible narrower on one end. I'd be weary about committing any more business with this vendor considering the version 1 switches were made to look good through some creative photography.
Before anyone decides to go with them I'd strongly suggest reading the long thread over at Rennlinst 997 forum. I'm not sure what the policy is from cross-linking posts so not including the link here.
Same situation as mine. here's the threads on ******** as well as a new thread I found on a UK Pcar forum. Notice any similarities?

Whatever repair method you use, be careful with any kind of "chemical" products on your hands i.e., sunscreen, lotions, hand sanitizer, etc. as they definitely seem to be the primary culprits along with fingernails, in causing the damage in the first place. Surprised that hasn't been addressed in any of these forum discussions.
I just ordered from Clima Repair v2. Are the switches coated with the similar soft rubber feel or is it some type of Line-x coating? I will post my results as soon as they come in. Anyone else use the v2?

Just got my switches from the mail. Ten days from order to shipment to the states!!
I installed them!!! LOVE them!!! These are the best kits to end this whole issue once and for all!! Yes, it has a light dry graphite feel. I can't thank ClimaRepair enough!!!
Yes, they light up as well!!! These are version 2.
Wanted to add my two pennyworth to this thread as I've just had my buttons replaced by Climate Repair (
Climate Repair | Porsche climate control button refurbishment
). Sent the unit off on Thursday the 7th Sep and received it back today, 11th Sep. The buttons look excellent and the turnaround time was outstanding.
Hi All,
I've developed a really cheap solution to this using paint mask decals to allow you to respray a hard plastic paint finish to the switches, but retain the symbols and back-lighhting. Im selling the decals at a low cost to recover my investment and make a small profit (price just 26 USD). You can find the listing in the classifieds.

Thanks, James
Mine keep strong after a year of almost daily use.
By the way the V3 version looks outstanding:

I just received my Clima Repair switches but unfortunately I have traded the car in before I could install.
Anyone want to purchase my set? How about $80.00 shipped?
