Hi, I have a 2013 911S with a chunk of finish missing from my drivers front wheel. I had it looked at and was told that they can't refinish it. It looks like a rock probably flew up and hit it. It's totally cosmetic, I'm really the only one who would notice it day to day, but was wondering if anyone knew of a used one for sale. I'm not going to buy a brand new one - I just can't justify the cost. I would consider a whole set if the condition and price was right. Who looked at it and said it couldn't be refinshed? Sounds very wrong. Call a wheel refinishing place and I'll bet you get a different story. I've seen them correct some serious damage successfully and it sounds like your's is just cosmetic. So unless the wheel is cracked some how, it can be refinished. Keep us posted.

While it was at my local Porsche dealer for service I had them look at it. They use a company for this and that company said it had been refinished once before and there wasn't anything they could do to it. I'm going to get a 2nd opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In my humble opinion, that is repairable. It is just the finish that needs to be repainted and I sure don't see anything to indicate a structurally damaged wheel. A reputable wheel repair business should be able to handle for very little money. If it were my wheel, I would most definitely have it repaired. Good luck.

Agree. Don't see anything that can't be repaired. Looks like the paint just peeled off. If so the prior repair surface prep may have left something to be desired. Is there clear painted over it to protect the metal or is the clear still peeling? Or am I seeing things?

Ok - picked up the car and got the scoop on the wheel. It had been refinished once before, poorly. Basically they need to media blast the wheel and refinish it. I might have all the wheels done if that's the case, possibly in the satin finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
