Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

GT3s and 2s often come with rollcages fitted which will limit access to the rear for your golf bats.
Leading evidence: 'Install which will limit access' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check ...but was reluctant' (1 discussions). Now I've changed I don't miss the Audi too much, apart from space sometimes, however I'm not a golfer so not too much of an issue to me

I could always take my clubs up to a dealers to check...but was reluctant to do that!!

Of course I will test drive them and see which one I prefer, but for an everyday car and reduced outlay TT looks the best option.

That may seem trivial but I will be using the car daily.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4wd won't make meaningful difference to the space- it only affects the front luggage area marginally, no difference inside.
Hi all...
Ive done quite a bit of reading on the forum and I tend to agree with some of the stuff being written about the depreciation trends and potential new owners biting more off than they can chew (cost wise more so!)
Proper Sports car ownership was inevitable but it may have come a little earlier than I expected. Have also owned Cerbera (Not cheap!) Evo RS Sprint
so I guess I have 3 main questions -
Considering I have an RS4 (2.7TT) with 470bhp.
Av. MPG - 20-22
Owned 2 years - Service, upgrade, maintenance - £3,200
1/ Cost wise, apart from the additional outlay do I have a great deal to be concerned about. I'm more than happy at reputable indies, particularly on cars from 200-2002.
2/ Performance wise... understnad that dynamically Audi - Porche completely different BUT the Audi is quick. 4sec 60 and 100 in about 9.
I'm looking a X50 or tuned car to be the best option 996TT.
Are there dangers out there? apart from facing the wrong way (608bhp DMS GT2 for sale currently - look outstandingly sexy!)
3/ How many Golf bags including Drivers can I get in!!!
And does this make a difference between cars with 4WD and no back seats. eg. GT3 v's TT
That may seem trivial but I will be using the car daily. I dont want a 'supercar' on the drive and me have to drive to various courses in the misses's 206 HDI!
Of course I will test drive them and see which one I prefer, but for an everyday car and reduced outlay TT looks the best option.
Any thoughts / recommendations will be appreciated.
If anyone wants a mint Misano RED RS4 with 68k on. Let me know!
Hi there, I too have followed the path your planning. Sold my Misano RS4 circa 460-470hp last October and was looking at the X50's. I found though a standard X50 didn't excite me as much as the Audi did, funny as it may sound but it felt held back. Which once I'd been in a DMS tuned one was understandable because this makes it an animal!
Now I've changed I don't miss the Audi too much, apart from space sometimes, however I'm not a golfer so not too much of an issue to me
I think service wise they are not too far off the Audi however I do find the 996 more economical!!
Hope this helps :thumb:
Thanks for the speedy reply.
I think a standard one would do the job...I dont track (Yet) and I dont puch on public roads, certainly not in built up areas. BUT I crave,as most of us do...that initial burst of acceleration and that buzz of just shifting down the road at force with a quick squeeze of the loud pedal.
The reasons above also push me away from a GT3, BUT I love them, I love the track spec of cars on the road!! no idea why. (Hence why I bought an EVO RS).
Now then golfers! Im SURE one bag would go in, otherwise Porsche would be reducng its market.....
GT3s and 2s often come with rollcages fitted which will limit access to the rear for your golf bats. I wonder if a GT3 or 2 would be a little too hard-core for everyday use as they are very firm, and you may miss the traction control, 4wd on a day like this!
Personally, for an everyday supercar, I'd go for a Turbo, possibly a Turbo S if the budget would stretch.
I'd be amazed if you could get golf clubs in and out of the car without damaging the trim, and golf clubs plus passenger may be a challenge, but I've never tried...
4wd won't make meaningful difference to the space- it only affects the front luggage area marginally, no difference inside.
The most practical is the Targa- you can open the rear screen like a hatch. But that might seem a little slow compared to the RS4...
an RS4 may be quick but a 996 TT is as quick in the corners where a RS4 looses out
certainly a fine choice of cars out there and most Turbo's are stacked full of all the options !
I will also add to that saying my RS4 had a fair bir of money spent getting it to turn and stop how I liked, however the 911 out the box is far more superior!
As an avid golfer it is fairly important that I can at least get one set of bats in.
Targa was an option, but need the power or I dont think I would be happy.
Turbo Cab is the best option, BUT my mates would take this pi$$ and they are a premium over the normal TT.
Cab Hard top also ruins the whole look of the car I think.
I havent played much since I got the Turbo, but with my C2 I could fold the rear seats down and get two carry bags laid out across the back. I had to remove the drivers and lay them on the top though. I could get a Powercaddy Titanium and a pull trolley in the front compartment fairly easily, but there would be absolutely no chance in the Turbo.
And if you are careful, you won't damage the trim.
Thats encouraging then if the rear seat backs fold down in the turbo as well.
I'll just have to be very careful!
I could always take my clubs up to a dealers to check...but was reluctant to do that!!
