Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need some photos of standard model radios fitted to 996's. The ones I need are: CR11 or CR31 (radio-cassette) CDR22 (radio CD) CDR23 (radio CD) If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. They need to be a reasonable quality and size, and I'm looking for close-up shots. My email is richard996 (at) gmail d0t com Thanks

POST 2Original post

I can't believe porsches originally had a casette player. If i'd have bought a brand new car in '99 i would have wanted cd at least [ ].

POST 3Original post

Come on then what cheap skate is still rolling with a CR31 ? how do you get your Mp3's on to them and do you want us to chip in and buy you a CDR22 on ebay?.

POST 4Original post

Some of us have MDR32s - Mini discs; the way of the future - trust me!

POST 5Original post

Mine looks exactly like the first one, but its a CR-21 rather than CR-11 or CR-31. Let me know if its of any use to you. Greg

POST 8Original post

No problem. I'll get you something tomorrow (although the volume button is a bit worn, so no offence taken if you don't use the photo!).

POST 9Original post

Just sent two pics to you Richard, so let me know if you don't get them (they were nearly 8Mb combined so hopefully your email address can take that much). Greg

POST 10Original post

richard e-mailed photos this evening , hope they are of use. 75pno

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys, just the job. Can anyone help with the CDR23?

POST 12Original post

Do you still want a CDR-22 and, if so, what resolution?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes please. 300dpi and 2800x2100 (ish) would be good.

POST 14Original post

Ours is a CDR23, Richard, do you still need pics? Mike

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes please Mike. That would complete the set. [ ]

POST 16Original post

Okey doke, will get them to you tomorrow. Mike

POST 17Original post

is the CDR23 compatible with the CDR22 loom and set up, and if so what is the improvement if any? Cheers,

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The CR23 uses the most fibre-optic loop if it is amplified. It does have speaker connections, but no line outputs for a conventional amp. It would need to be decoded to remove the security code (which interacts with the DME), and I doubt it would give any difference in performance to a CDR22. If you want to upgrade, best bet is to get an aftermarket unit....

POST 19Original post

No aftermarket stereo's for me thanks, can't stand them - like to keep in with the original style of cars and not have lots of flashing lights Just wondered if it was a worth while upgrade was all or if it was much the same. Sounds like there is no point though. Cheers,

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You don't have to have flashing lights. A nice second-hand Becker Cascade, TrafficPro, Granx Prix, etc would look perfect. Some were factory options. Becker don't supply them any more, unfortunately. I bought a nice new Blaupunkt unit for my 3.2 which looks very much at home. Originality is fine, if that's your thing, but you soon get tired of a 1980's radio cassette!

POST 21Original post

Hehe I still have some sealed RDK sa90's if you want some lol. I have a collection of retro 'boomboxes' and radios from the 80's and 90's, sometimes you can't beat the memories a fuzzy tape brings back!

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Martin - think I have everything I need now. Steve - here's a picture of Martin's Becker Grand Prix. I'm sure you'll agree it looks very original.
