Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

AA came out, and said the battery needed replacing- they had a Unipart repplacement on board which apparently fits the bill- and has a higher output that the Porsche one that was fitted.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

drove my car on friday evening, no problems at all... tried to start in on Saturday afternoon, wouldnt turn over. AA came out, and said the battery needed replacing- they had a Unipart repplacement on board which apparently fits the bill- and has a higher output that the Porsche one that was fitted. little choice, so i had it fitted- £99 anything i should be concerned about in all this? do batteries normally fail so suddnely like this? is the Unipart one going to be ok in the long term?

POST 2Original post

Yes, they have 6 cells inside them of 2volts each. It only takes one to fail and the battery is useless. This is quite typical and there is nothing much you can do -it's just batteries.... Best thing you can do for a standard car battery is to drive the car for long drives so it gets a good charge and not let it go dead flat. Cheers, Jeff

POST 3Original post

You haven't had a very good weekend have you? and :yeah:

POST 4Original post

I once had an audi, driving up the A12 towards Ipswich, flashed some slow b*****d out of the way and my car almost died, released the flasher and the car came back to life. Got to the Audi garage in Ipswich turned off the ignition and the car was completely dead - so sure enough the battery had failed. So yes, batteries do fail just like that. I wouldn't worry about the Unipart battery - enjoy :thumb:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks guys. wattie- i guess maybe you read this one after you read my Tyre post- fortunately they were on two different weekends- but within two weeks of each other. since i've only had the car for a few months i think i would honestly say that any weekend, even with a flat tyre or dead battery, is a great one- as long as i get to drive this fabulous car..!
