Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

It's not a "needle bearing" it's a "roller bearing" ....It's what I use when The Solution is too much for the budget.......LN sells the RND Roller Bearing Kit just like the one in the video.....if you have a Single Row IMS you can just replace it with an NUP-6304 Roller Bearing from SK and be good to go.and sleep nights.....It' a no-brainer...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just spotted a new video from these guys. I would love to hear what some of you 996 engine experts think about their approach to building our engine. You Tube

POST 2Original post

Is it a grenade or do I hear ticking 💣 lol I hope it holds together

POST 3Original post

Seemed like a pretty nice engine untill I got near the end and saw the FVD Brombacher oil sump and then the stack of wooden pallets to get the engine up to install, I thought surely, they could afford a nice lift table..

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I noticed the pallet lift table also. I probably haven't been paying attention to all of the different IMS replacement designs. I don't recall ever seeing one that used needle bearings. The power output is impressive. It will be interesting to see how long they last.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Porschetech3, thanks for clarifying that for me. I looked up the difference...yikes! I went down the rabbit hole. I'm glad mine is a 1999 and has a low failure rate. I'm going to continue enjoying it as the most dependable car that I have ever owned (which isn't saying much since I have also owned a British car most of my life).
