Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i have just brought some fabspeed bypass pipes for my 996. has anyone fitted these and was it easy to do? And how loud is the exhaust when fitted because the exhaust dosent sound to loud on the fabspeed video.
i do want it loud because the car is only driven at weekends anyway but just dont want it so people are sticking there fingers in there ears when you drive past them!
They won't be sticking their fingers in their ears it will be cotton wool to soak up the blood gushing out of them - the fabspeed site doesn't give you any idea how loud those things are
Hey Simon,
I fitted these onto my 996 GT3.
Don't be fooled by the Fabspeed video, these are seriously loud.
I could only done one track day last year, which was a "noisy" day at Donnington. It was as loud (almost) as the Viper Race car and GT3 Race car on track that day.
I have a video (bit naff), but you'll get the idea from it, as to how loud.
On a longish journey they can get a bit wearing, but so far I have stuck with them

In terms of fitting, I got PARR to do it, because the brackets were rusted on the existing silencers.
Enjoy
Ahhh the memories
But in the end, ahhh the relief when i put the standard ones back on.
Great sound if you can live with it, really really loud though, was afraid to put the foot down anywhere in the end because you know that everybody within a half mile radius knows your coming
My mate has an old Ferrari with some ridiculous exhaust thingy on it (Miltek?) and he got a fine from the rozzers driving down the Kings road in London. I think they said it was so loud it constituted a public nuisance, or something like that. He had just given it some beans though, it wasnt just cruising at 15mph.
I took mine round the block with the cans off which is identical to the sound of Fabspeed muffler bypass pipe.
It is loud, good fun, kids on the estate had 'wow' expressions but when I pulled on the drive the girlfriend said what the F have you done to that, it sounds like the Mustang? The Mustang she is refering to is a 1967 6.5ltr V8 with open headers! Fookin loud!!!
On a 993, Fabspeed Supercups  wicked, maybe too loud if combined with cat bypass but should have thought you'd be pleased
:cop: Just don't go flooring it if the Fuzz r about :floor:
Was never stopped myself, very close a couple of times when enjoying a good tunnel lol, but they were going the other way and couldn't get turned around
if you drive with really light pedal pressure you can just about get away with them everyday, but i didn't/don't and don't imagine any of us here do either and if you do then sort yourself out for god's sake
Porschespurs,
What car are you putting these bypass pipes on? I looked on the Fabspeed website for bypasses for a 996tt and although they sell both cat and muffler bypass, neither works with the original cat/muffler. Hence you need to purchase new cats and mufflers.
Am I correct in the above anyone? Is there any similar upgrade where the original components can be kept (either cats of mufflers) so as to make the upgrade to nicer grunt noise not so pricy and more importantly not too offensive in sound!
