Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

You can search dealer inventories and you may run across something that fits the bill, but I've ordered both my Cayman S and my current C2S Cab and it only took a couple of months to get the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I've been tossing around the idea of moving up from my Boxster S to a Carrera S cab. I have looked at inventory in 4 states and most of what is on the ground is black and silver. Are colors really that unpopular with 911s? I love guards red and ruby red, but there aren't any out there.....orders take a long time.

POST 2Original post

Dealers stick with safe "colors"....black, white, silver, sometimes blue to appeal to larger market....I would do the same if I were a dealer. The good news here is if you find a color other than these, it may mean it was a build to order and the buyer backed out. Translation....they'll deal aggressively as they know a build to order usually has a much smaller market to sell into. Good luck.

POST 3Original post

Check out Porsche of Hawaii; they have a Guards Red S cab, turbo wheels, red stitching, PDK,.... ship it to CA, drive it back, broken in ...

POST 5Original post

Are looking for new or used? I like the Porsche Racing Green myself, they were launch cars in '09, so there's several out there.

POST 6Original post

Im looking new. I might have to order, but that takes forever!

POST 7Original post

911 buyers are evidently not as individualistic as one would expect if you go by color choices on the dealer lots. We are definitely not in the 1970s when Signal Orange and Chrome Yellow were standard choices. You can search dealer inventories and you may run across something that fits the bill, but I've ordered both my Cayman S and my current C2S Cab and it only took a couple of months to get the car. I ordered in late Feb with delivery in late April. If you don't plan to keep the car more than 2-3 years and you're not too picky you might as well buy something off the lot. If you are looking keep longer, and the details matter, order the car. FWIW, the 991 Cabriolets will not be available for us to order until summer of 2012 in case you were thinking about waiting for the next generation. The 991 coupe will be available in the US Jan 12 after the Frankfurt debut 9/11.

POST 8Original post

Yeah, if you want black or silver, you can have your pick right now. As far as the 991, I think I want to go 997 and then move to the 991 in a few years. Ideally, the 2011 deals would be pretty good with the 2012's on the lot and the new 991 coming....who knows.

POST 9Original post

Tell me about it, I ordered mine over two months ago, finally heard last week it moved to PLPROD status, still no firm build date yet, was supposed to be a May build. Build dates have moved back recently due to change in model year supposedly, may be different for 991 though.

POST 10Original post

The dealer here in Scottsdale has a new C2S cab in ruby red. It's a beauty - almost bought it a while ago. Then I decided I needed a coupe. Fly out, buy it and drive home. Break-in is done!
