Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi!! Me seeking advice again! Im looking into a 2004 C4S Cabrio. The car has only 17000 miles on it. It is sold by a dealer and is CPO. Lapis blue with all natural leather color interior, manual and is in pristine condition. Not a dent. I love the car and the color combination. Price 53300, which would mean aprox 57 out the door. Is it overpriced? I've been told it may be on the higher end, but that is CPO with low mileage and a C4s cabrio and that it is worth it. Is this true? Is it worth to pay a little more (if in this case is truly a little!) for a CPO? If this is the case then I hope to be posting pictures soon. and if it's not then of another one! Thanks for your advice.

Check around and do your homework. $53k for a '04 996 seems high. CPO in my experience usually adds about $2k premium and IMO worth the peace of mind. For $53k you should be able to get a well optioned ‘07-'08 997 with CPO in good condition.

POST 3Original post

Excellence buyer's guide gives a 2004 C4S cab the following values: 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 low $63,200 $57,700 $49,400 $38,400 $34,400 high $84,600 $77,200 $66,200 $51,400 $46,100 Excellence gives another 10% for the low miles and condition, but remember this is a 996 and there are a ton of them and frankly they are not as desirable as the 997. Finally it's a buyer's market as the economy has yet to recover. If I had to have this car I'd offer the Excellence high of 46K, mayber another 2K for the CPO, but no more.
