If those patches are like a rock, because you are using a summer compound, you are toast!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

First time forum user here. Before I sign the paper for a 2011 Carrera 4 with PKD, anyone would like to comment on the C4? How is the handling in winter driving (like in Wisconsin or Chicago) with the OEM summer tires? Also, is porsche going to the flappy paddle gearbox on the steering wheel collar? Thank you.

POST 2Original post

The car will not go safely on snow w/o snow tires. W/Snow tires 4wd 911s go very well. Casey

POST 3Original post

+1 on snow tires (I lived in Rochester, NY several years). Think that only 4 little patches of tire are what keep your car from sliding on the road. If those patches are like a rock, because you are using a summer compound, you are toast!

POST 4Original post

There is an optional sport steering wheel for PDK that has paddles on the wheel column as opposed to buttons on the wheel itself. It can be retro-fitted to any PDK equipped car. The dealer will have this information, certainly the parts department. Snow tires are not optional on these cars for winter driving. Chains can be fitted but there is I believe a different tire size. The Porsche Tequipment catalog (on line at Porsche.com) has this information, as well as your dealer.

POST 5Original post

I have Pirelli Sotozeros on my C4 in the winter....no issues.

POST 6Original post

The C4 and C4S are great cars. A bit heavier, but the handling is superb. Like others have indicated, winter tires are a must in snow and ice conditions.

POST 7Original post

Great info. I will stick with C4 then. Thanks.
