Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. hello, I just installed a new double din radio using the kit from Suncoast.
Leading evidence: 'Install double din radio' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuse' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used the correct harness with rca outputs to the factory amp.

I even checked the fuse to see if the system fuse had blown, looks perfect.

Hi Greg - I just did a double din install in my 01 996 C2, non-Bose using the CAI harness with Pioneer AVIC 8200NEX.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hello, I just installed a new double din radio using the kit from Suncoast. Went very well and looks nice. Only issue is that I have no speaker output. I used the correct harness with rca outputs to the factory amp. I have power going out via the remote (blue wire). Still nothing. I even checked the fuse to see if the system fuse had blown, looks perfect. Everything looks like it should work, any ideas? Has anyone else had this problem? Please advise.
Thank you!!! 99' 996 C2, non Bose setup.
Hi Greg - I just did a double din install in my 01 996 C2, non-Bose using the CAI harness with Pioneer AVIC 8200NEX. Fairly straight forward with the wiring. The key recommendation I received from CAI was that the blue wire ties together between the black harness, the red harness and the head unit (three wires tied together).

I did just as the instructions show. Attached the blue wires all together, I can even hear the amp turn on when I plug the factory yellow connection into the red harness. I'm at a loss. My only thought now is maybe the radio I purchased has bad preamp outputs.
Greg, is that your stock system on the left or a similar picture you found on the net?
If that is your system on the left, did you remove the stock EQ unit as shown along with the stock frunk amp?
And lastly, are you attempting to reuse the stock wiring via a harness?
That is my stock system (before and after install)
I did remove the Stock EQ unit, Do i need to keep it connected and hide it in the dash or something?
I did Reuse the factory wiring using Suncoast's Wiring Kit that converts the preamp outputs to wiring feeding the factory amp. You can see the exact kit i used in stevedu's post above.
Ahhh... in my humble opinion, that's the problem. You see the line-level outputs of the CR-220 fed the Porsche EQ unit. That unit serves as an active crossover and is in-line between the HU and amp. Therefore, it's my theory that the signal is not making to the amp because the wiring is missing a link.
Make sense?
To answer your question... Yes, connect it back up and see if you get a signal to the amp. You could always hide it behind the shelf unit.
Connect it back up Greg and you may be surprised that it works. The only concern is if the unit requires power that the wire harness is going to bypass, but if it powers up as normal, the unit should work. However, I haven't worked with one of the Porsche EQ processors like in your car and so there is a chance the system will be silent. But again, I'm almost certain, the line-level (pre-amp) output feeds through this unit.
I can also confirm that removing the EQ resulted in no speaker output when I swapped in a CDR for a CR.
I took the PCB out of the case, and zip tied it to the harness, out of the way.
Works...
Thanks Turbo! I think that once Greg re-installs the EQ back into the car, the pre-amp signal from his new HU will pass through the EQ and make it to the amp as normal. Hope he lets us know.
Installed the "Hi-Fi Equalizer" behind the a/c unit in the center console/dash. Works perfectly. Thank you to everyone for the help. Sorry for the delay, was out of town. Can't wait to have apple car play in the cabrio.
Glad it worked out! That just proves that if you're using the original wiring harness, the signal from the HU does feed through the Porsche EQ processor.
Don't be stranger Greg!
