This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Iam currently looking into buying a 996TT in the near future. As the title describes, if i was to invest in a 996TT, would i be able to have the option of the switchable exhaust, or it is only able to have an straight upgrade. What kind of power increase would one of the two options offer? just out of interest.... Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

No. However you could look towards the expensive solutions from Ruf and 9ff which offer switchable capabilities and some degree of power increases, especially with 200cell cats.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, thanks for clarifying that so quickly! I will see what car i end up purchasing, then possibly look into the Ruf option etc. Still trying to decide between an RS4 saloon, for the space, and the 99TT because i have always loved seeing them and reading up about them...

POST 4Original post

Go for the Turbo, they can be quite practical cars given a little thought. Many of us have done the odd week in Europe in them with female partners There are many other options if you're willing to sacrifice the switchable nature, you might want to consider Europipe and Tubi also!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think my heart is set on the turbo, cant beat the looks, the heritage. Its something i must own! And can almost afford now . I could live without the switchable exhaust if its not too loud, and from previous reading, its not! Driving Europe would hopefully be one of the first things i do!! been saving the trip for an enjoyable enough car!

POST 6Original post

If you are intending to keep the car with an OPC warranty then there is no exhaust upgrade option available. Any Tubi, Miltek system will invalidate it. Technically a remap (DMS or Revo) would also ***** your warranty up but I do know these are not easily detectable by OPC. These would add between 60 - 70 bhp to a 996tt.
