Suggestion
I would fit winter tyres, carry chain (practice putting them on somehwere warm beforehand, as you dont want to be standing at the side of a busy, snowy, narrow resort road, reading the instructions  ) and check the local laws regarding winter driving.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, been waiting to do this for a while...
Taking my Carrera 4 Cab to Austria to go skiing for two weeks.
Just wanted to see if anyone has some solid experience with driving in possible snow conditions etc..
So things I have done or been checked off my list.
- Porsche Fitted Roof Rack for Board & Skies
- Snow Chains
- Winterised Fluids etc
- Cover for car *if I can't park indoors
- Ice Remover for Windscreen * Hard Top fitted as it's winter
Mostly main road driving (mostly), going to "Fugen" for a week, then meeting the lads down in "St Anton" for an additional week.
Any tips from you experienced guys about being caught in snow storm or on snow covered roads, driving styles etc etc?
Welcome to the forum and congratulations for pissing me off on your first post by combining two things I love in it - driving in the Alps and skiing.
Fuchs is the best one to answer this as he lives in Switzerland (lucky git) but not sure how often he takes his 993 for a spin in the snow :?: I would have thought with proper winter tyres and chains for really bad weather the C4S would be fine. I have driven my 996tt in the snow and providing you were careful with the right (and left) foot it was fine.
Have a great trip
The first year i had my 993 i used it all winter, with snow tyres.
But with just 2wd it was all to easy to getting the rear moving in a direction it shouldnt be, that after one winters worth of arriving at work with white knuckles and a puckered drivers seat i threw in the towel and bought a Golf for winter duties.
However i do see lots of C4 and 996 turbos around in winter and i can guarantee that they are all driving on winter tyres.
Not so sure about Austria, but here in CH if you have an accident in wintery conditions and you dont have winter tyres, then the police and ins co will consider that you were driving unprepared and blame / your
insurance
claim will more than likely go against you.
Notice i am talking about winter tyres and not snow tyres - normal tyres do not work well below 7 degrees and winter tyres have a diferent compound / construction in order to avoid snow packing into the tread and the diference in grip between the two in temps below 7 degrees is obvious.
I would fit winter tyres, carry chain (practice putting them on somehwere warm beforehand, as you dont want to be standing at the side of a busy, snowy, narrow resort road, reading the instructions  ) and check the local laws regarding winter driving.
If i can help anymore then let me know.
guet fahrt !
Thanks for the Great Feedback guys..
Sorry for the the delayed response, just back from Frankfurt... got in one of those "Merc" cabs they have and once out the airport the guy shifts into hyperdrive and we are doing 170kph.. I love "GERMANY" for that reason alone... "sigh"
On the High Vis jacket, I have made sure to pick one up so thanks for the reminder.
I have been told by my Porsche mechanic that I should not do over 150kph with the Roof rack and esspecially with the Board & Skiis... hehe
I'll get some Winter Tyres fitted, don't want to run into
insurance
issues if I should happen to have an accident. For the rest of it, i'll be cautious on the road..
Added a pick of my car.. I know as I "newbie" I should be doing that
