Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Like a numpty I managed to bang a heavy case down right on one of the rear electric window switches and it has dropped through its hole. Is there an easy way to access under here or does the whole central console have to come out?

POST 2Original post

If it's the switches I'm thinking of ,there is a small screw in the ashtray compartment that can be removed and you can get to the switch from there. TB

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ahh, will nip out to the car park later this morning and have a look...

POST 4Original post

:agree: Deffinitely the easiest way, to lift the console is a whole day job.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Update: Took the switch console out using the screws under the ashtray and easily was able to press the sunken switch back into its position. The upside was finding £15 in pound coins under the console - thank you to whoever used to own the car you paid for Sunday night's curry!

I only found 1p! Glad you got it sorted :thumb: TB
