Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

900 miles so far in my MY00 C2 and according to the dash it is returning 16.5mpg
I know I drive properly  and I was expecting a low return but this is a bit too low for my liking, more in a sense that I think a pipe may be disconnected or a vacuum leak? If I reset and drive dead careful I can achieve maybe 24 to 26 but it doesn't last.
A typical drive for me is to obide the rules and have the occaisional blast, I do tend to stick to the speed limits but like to get there quick and go round anything that is travelling under the said limit for that road (when safe to do so).
My MY02 Boxster used to return 27 - 30 MGP with same driving style.
Book reads 22ish but what is realistic? Really interested to hear what other owners are getting, especially 3.4 models.
Cheers

where worcestershire i'm kiddy!
it was on 5th gear a few years back
almost impossible to get book MPG figures as they are lab tested
so real world is always less
Note, other half's BMW 320d, always 10mpg short of claimed
I get average of 24 mpg out of my C4. Mixture of spirited driving on country roads and a few long motorway cruises thrown in.
16.5 is getting close to track day or City centre driving.
I had a Boxster S for 3 years & covered 62K miles, average mpg 26-27 ("business use"). With yr 00 C2 3.4, same driving style (sic) & similar journeys I can not get better than 23mpg avge per tank although it has never dropped much below 22mpg. Town driving is murderous on consumption, I guess I must get over 25mpg at motorway speeds. The way the fuel guage drops reminds me of the guage of a petrol Range Rover I once had although Porsche tank is miniscule - I get between 250 - 270 miles per fill up.
Note: my calc's are always my own as car computers are optimistic, the optimism increases with miles (i.e. more miles since last reset = higher mpg).
300bhp/3.4 litre displacement should gobble fuel, 23mpg is not bad.
Managed to climb upto 19.6 now. I am currently using Tesco 97ron, so I am now convinced there is a problem somewhere. I will check my hydro-carbon levels etc.
I avoid town like the plague because as you know mpg suffers badly. Ultimately I get 27.1mpg and on exceptional occasions have seen 29.1mpg. However this is from a 3.6L engine. Some have gotten past 30mpg.

The other day after I'd refuelled I reset the counter and drove back into town via the M25 and M4. Reading was around the 29mpg mark even getting up to 34mpg at 1 point, by the time I'd arrived home in deepest London town it was reading 26 so not bad.
I do get between 7-9mpg on frequent occasions though
i find it easy to get 20 mpg on an urban cycle, and 5 more on a long run, provided in both cases that i dont thrape it! my car is also a tiptronic which i assume is a little more inefficient.
