Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, I dropped the car off to have IMS and a few other things done the other day and was talking with my mechanic about new wheels. These are two options ..in the shop I thought it would be the lobster forks hands down but after seeing them mounted side by side I'm thinking I like the other option better. Please note I don't have a photo of lobster forks on front and rear only mounted on rear ... let me know what you think

POST 2Original post

I never have been a big fan of either the lobster forks or the 997 turbo wheels. I like the set in the bottom pic better.

POST 3Original post

I think they both look fine, but prefer the ones in the second pic a bit more.

Thanks, he just happened to have 2 sets at the shop I am also open to other opinions I'm going to keep the original wheels that came with the car as well should I ever decide to switch back to stock. I agree with you but I do like the lobster forks

POST 5Original post

I prefer the lobster forks (if those are the ones on the rear in the first photo), not for the style but because they are darker in color. I think the dark gray or black wheel looks better on a yellow car.

Kind of funny... my preference for the other wheels was because I like the shinier wheels on the car. So, that really shows it's a matter of whatever you like, don't worry about others. But, we all can agree that some spatulas might really jazz it up.

POST 9Original post

Pick the one you like best and forget the rest... I like the second pick and think they look good in the dark gunmetal grey or black. You could even keep the shiny lip.

POST 10Original post

Im not a huge fan of either, what wheels do you have at the moment?

POST 11Original post

I'm with Spork... I like the dark Lobster forks. They blend with the speed yellow better IMHO. What are the others? They're nice, but not OEM?

My current set up

POST 14Original post

The lobsters actually look great, I'm surprised. I wonder if they affect the ride, I'd steer clear of 19s but maybe this is the exception?

POST 15Original post

IMHO, chrome wheels look great on many cars, but in the case of Speed Yellow, I'd either go with a darker wheel or stick with the OEM silver. I'm personally not for black wheels, but they'd add nice contrast to the bright color of the car. Dave make a good point about the lobsters... they are 19" and be careful... the lobsters came in different widths and offsets. Make sure they don't bang the fender's edge or cause any trouble with turning or scrubbing. Another issue is the change in ride quality. If you prefer a smoother ride, then you need to stick with 18". Are the original turbo twists that are on your car 17" wheels? Looks like the older 17" versions.

POST 17Original post

I like the bottom wheels, but more importantly in order to "pull the look off" if you will, I think you need to be lowered

POST 18Original post

Bigger Lobster's are always tougher then the little ones.
