It was probably a completely grassy path once upon a time, but where heavier vehicles have been up and down it over the years, it has ended up as a path/drive with two muddy/bumpy tracks on each side with the untouched grassy bit sticking up in the middle.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, Last night went to visit a friend outside london and got to his house where a long grassy drive/path led the way to his house. It was probably a completely grassy path once upon a time, but where heavier vehicles have been up and down it over the years, it has ended up as a path/drive with two muddy/bumpy tracks on each side with the untouched grassy bit sticking up in the middle. I drove very slowly up it and was just a bit bumpy but when i left i had to reverse down it and at one point felt a bit stuck and could hear a rubbing noise from somewhere underneath which is no surprise really. I went forward to move of it as and then proceeded backwards okay. When i got home i looked underneath as much as i could without having a ramp and just saw some blades of grass hanging down..im probably being silly..it didnt sound that bad but do you reckon i could have done anything...are there any vulnerabilitis under there? cheers peter

POST 2Original post

Probably nothing to worry about - You may have punched a hole in the gearbox, torn the sump from the engine, destroyed the exhaust headers, mangled the lamdhas, punctured the aircon, mutilated the diff and misaligned the Geo. And maybe, and this could be truly awful, have got mud on the undertray. But as I say probably nothing to worry about.

POST 3Original post

It's pretty well protected under there (if all your undertrays are intact). However, most likely damage (if any) would be brake cooling ducts or air-conditioning pipes... I squashed them on mine doing the same as you, so check the air-con is working.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
