I actually wound up using a different model (for an Audi) that I bought used at half price, and I bent it slightly to fit.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Anyone here have one of those plastic front license plate mounts that they aren't using? I currently have a tow hook license plate mount but its annoying and I prefer a plate mounted in the center of the bumper.

POST 2Original post

If you haven't drilled into your bumper yet, I'd strongly advise you to go with an un-drilled bumper whenever possible -- as P-car buyers do look for that at the point of resale. FWIW, I finally jettisoned my crappy (and spinning) tow hook license plate. Instead, I went with "ShoNSto" for both my 981 Outlaw and my 987. One and done, let alone centered without damaging the bumper. YMMV. If you already have holes, then I'm sure someone will have the OEM plastic holder. I think they're only about $35 online for the 987 and less for the 986 .

POST 3Original post

Yah, my bumper is currently un-drilled... i definitely want a no drill solution. I think I've seen people use sticky tape to hold it in place...

I have one that I don’t need: Porsche Club of America mart.pca.org

POST 5Original post

I just bought a 987.1 Boxster and am looking for a front plate solution. Which 987 do you have where you got the StoNSho to fit? Their website seems to indicate that it doesn’t fit on 987s.

POST 6Original post

Hi, Nathan_S - Welcome to P9! I actually wound up using a different model (for an Audi) that I bought used at half price, and I bent it slightly to fit. As I've got a 987.2, the bottom plate was flat -- so it seemed like any similar model might work. YMMV on this; I'd reach out to Sto-N-Sho and see what they recommend. I reached out to them years ago and they had offered two suggestions (I forget which). My 987.2 didn't have a bottom lip to go over, so that was made things pretty easy. BTW, make sure you introduce yourself (car photos strongly encouraged -- we'd love to see your 987.1!) in the New Members section, as that's a strong tradition here before diving into tech questions. Again, cheers and welcome!

POST 7Original post

Thanks for the welcome and info. I’ll get the introductory post up.

POST 8Original post

Does that fit the 987.2 ? I'm interested if it does... i guess I can check the part number myself too
