Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just fitted an F900BT to my TT - Just as good, but smaller screen.

I've just got the wife used to using the tomtom and I'd never persuade her to try something different unless I can be sure it's at least as easy to use!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is it possible/financially viable to retrofit a Porsche PCM system to a 2000 C2 that was not supplied with it as standard? Would it be a simple 'plug and play' job or would it involve lots of complicated stuff like replacement wiring harness and lots of hidden bits and bobs?
If it is possible, where can I get one?
I have a PCM1 unit and DVD sat nav drive in my garage. However I would be reluctant to offer it for sale to anyone on this forum. Firstly I think it would be financially unviable to put it in. Secondly and most importantly there are many double din units out there which are vastly superior in every way. Have a look at the Sony/ Pioneer / Kenwood range. I have a Kenwood DNX 7220 in my car which I am very pleased with. It was fitted by Richard of Audio Innovations who was suggested to me by my local OPC. He is based in Surrey. Let me know if you want his number.
Thaks Dave, I've had a look around and there's some nice kit out there! Shame you always worry about some scrote breaking your window if you've got top-end car audio stuff...
Had the Pioneer Avic D3 in my car for 18 months +
Great unit, does everything I want (ipod, radio, video, dvd, nav, bluetooth phone) and looks the business
Not flashy and garish which is why I chose it - a Porsche splash screen and it almost looks "standard" fit
Wouldn't bother with PCM
How does the nav compare on the Pioneer/Kenwood etc to tomtom? I've just got the wife used to using the tomtom and I'd never persuade her to try something different unless I can be sure it's at least as easy to use!
And before you say 'don't let her drive it' that is not an option!
I had TomTom on my phone before I got the 996 and the Pioneer unit is at least as easy to use. If anything, with the larger screen it could be a little easier. As for actual navigation they all use the same source data (from one of three supplier I believe) and therefore they are much of a muchness.
