Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If you don't fancy cleaning the terminals then get an Indy to spend 15/20 mins checking/cleaning the connectors as a new sensor is only £35 + VAT (it's 1.5/2.0 hours labour to swap the unit).

I thought about a new sensor but then decided to remove some of the plastic plumbing then clean the wire connectors then re-fit everything(20 mins).

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.
I posted another thread but thought I would make a new one for these problems..
Ok here goes. had the car a few month's 996TT..
Gremlin 1
hides in the radio it seams and likes to make a clicking sound when the car is un locked. I think it's in there trying to do something with the CD if I remove the CD i dont get a clicking.. the amount of time the clicking goes on for can range from 1 second up to 5 seconds maybe... any idea's why it does it.. it's a bit annoying...
Gremlin 2
hides in the oil pressure gauge and loves to make the needle bob up and down a little. some time allot. it's fine when driving allong but does it when i'm at lights or waiting..I know oil pressure gauges are not that good as my Caterham does the same but should it do this on a Porsche??
any info as how to get these Gremlins sorted whould be great...
: D

I am following you around!
I would say your mechanism is on its way out, worry about it when it fails all together or buy mine! lol
My CDR23 is a BE6612, if you were interested you will need to extract yours, look on the side to check what BE66** it is, they need to match.
Oil pressure gremlin is possibly normal IMO but check oil filler cap is on correct and tight, you won't believe what the slightest air leak on the filler
cap/neck can do to the running of the car.
Ha Ha Thanks mate for the info..
I'll check the oil cap before leaving work and see if it helps it..
i'm gonna try a laser cleaner in the radio and see if that sorts it out. prob wont tho then i'm gonna have to see if it breaks in the near future..
or there really is a Gremin living there...
thanks
A
O ok well they sure know how to make an annoying sound...
took a very sexy lady out in it the other day and even she said what the hell is that noise... I just looked at her and told her it was nitro bottle under the bonnet... I got a blank face.... not ment as a sexist remark.... :hand:
thanks for the info guys I read through the howl manual trying to find if is says it should do it....
I did find out that you can open your windows when unlocking the car tho Sweeeet.. I wish you could do it on the locking and put them up.. (I think you can but you have to use the key in the door) :nooo:
sweet that just about sorts out the gremlins.. just this luggage switch to sort now...
A
:?
I must admit I did not realise you could open them of the key but I know you can lock and auto-close by simply keeping the locking button depressed on the fob.
well seams like we have helped each other out..
the manual says to us the key in the door lock to close them ( I thought this sounded a bit stupid!!!) but if you say just holding button one does it then BONUS...it's the same for opening them just hold button one and they open up and un lock...... not too good for cold weather but pretty swish for the summer..
i'm gonna go try the closing them now...
re Oil pressure
My GT2's gauge started to "bob" recently. I thought about a new sensor but then decided to remove some of the plastic plumbing then clean the wire connectors then re-fit everything(20 mins).
Problem gone(for now)!
If you look behind the oil filter housing you will see the sender unit with two wires popping out the top. If you don't fancy cleaning the terminals then get an Indy to spend 15/20 mins checking/cleaning the connectors as a new sensor is only £35 + VAT (it's 1.5/2.0 hours labour to swap the unit).
Worse case senario is that you do have an oil pressure issue so maybe a trip to the garage is not a bad idea?
Well it had a major service at Porsche before I got the car so I hope if it was an oil pressure problem they would have picked it up... Gulp I hope!!! are Porsche dealers actually good or are they just the sqame as any other dealer,,, A bit crap?
Ok sounds stupid but I'm guessing it's under the car I have to look to find the sender to clean it.. i'm up for cleaning it and seeing if it still bobs about... it seams fine when driving around giving good pressure it's just when stopped that it seams to bob...
i'll go and have a look at lunch and see if i can see the filter but a point in the rough direction would be great...
Could it also be the gauge thats faulty??
Thanks for your help..
