hi,i was looking into buying my first ever porsche (boy am i happy), and just wanted to know whats the diffrence between a face-lift and a pre face-liftin the 996??? and what year does the face-lift start from? i saw a really nice one in zanzibar red but it was sold before i got to it. thanks alot.

As per the link posted above there was the most obvious extrnal 'facelift' for the 2002 model year (available from 51 plate) However there were anumber of other revisions earlier in the cars life that are noteworthy 1997 300bhp Carrera 2 introduced 1999 POSIP side impact protection introduced, Better exhaust sound, clear lenses. Carrera 4 with PSM introduced 2000 Egas drive by wire throttle introduced, PSM now an option on Carrera 2. Turbo and Millenium edition introduced 2001 Engine and front compartment release changed to elctronic switches, and by remote key fob. GT2 Introduced 2002 Full facelift introduced. 320bhp 3.6 with variocam. Turbo style headlights. and restyled bumpers front and rear. Upgraded interior quality with, glovebox, three spoke wheel, cupholders and OBC. Cabrio recieved glass rear window. New targa and C4S introduced 2003 faclift GT3 introduced 2004 C4S and turbo cabs introduced. GT3 RS introduced 40 year anniversary edition introduced, GT2 uprated. Turbo S introduced. At year end 997 introduced
