This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am doing wheel bearings and brakes on my 911 (99) fronts went easy, replaced the the bearings also repacked the new bearings too. The problem I have is the parking brake cable on the passenger side is shot. Is this a dealer item only? I have the one side torn apart now. I would like to get it done by this weekend. Reason for bearings being replaced is the right side was making noises plus it has 178k miles too. Thanks jeff

POST 2Original post

Are you talking about item#13 in the parts list?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, and number 14 would be nice to have too.

POST 4Original post

#14 = guide tube - 99642472102 - $8.75 #13 = brake cable - 99642414110 - $51.28

POST 6Original post

Yea, I was trying to keep my mouth shut, but at only $60 bucks for both, go OEM dude. If this was $1000 part, I'd understand trying to find alternatives, but with the factory cable only being $51, just buy it.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Never mind I see I can order from multiple places. Thanks for the help. Jeff

POST 8Original post

Yea, no problem. You can use those part numbers to cross-reference an aftermarket part.
