Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I just purchased a 99' C2. Before driving it home I noticed a missing interior panel where the roll bars pop up. I figured "No big deal"... turns out the panels are available. I purchased new ones from Suncoast and they look perfect. Only issue is there is no way to mount them. The pictures below show the new ones and where the tabs should be but seem to be broken off the back deck. Anybody have any experience with this? Are these tabs available? Please let me know what you come up with. New panel set into place New panel

POST 3Original post

I would be more interested in why they were off in the first place. Did the car take a roll over in a field? If so the roll bars would have activated. Do they have to be reset or have they been reset again at some point? It may be worth contacting the previous owner to find out what the hell happened and why they are missing. That fact would have been a deal breaker for me unless I had a good explanation as to why they were missing. Make sure they are guaranteed to work if/when they are needed the next time.

POST 4Original post

maybe the previous owner was curious if the anti roll bars were really in there and wanted to look and broke it i would also just put glue /silicone to hold it

I asked the Previous Owner when I was picking the car up, He told me that it was there before. He thought maybe the guys that installed the hardtop could have accidentally pulled them off. I guess some sort of adhesive will have to be the way to go.. I think I will also fabricate a bracket to reinforce the mounting... Thanks Everybody.

POST 6Original post

I'm not too good about babying my car. I leave my top down all of the months that it's feasible. I can tell you from experience that the plastic beneath the fabric on the roll bar covers will become brittle from cooking in the sun and easily crack up, and then exit the vehicle at speed due to the wind. I've lost one that way already. Fastening them with an adhesive seems like a reasonable remedy to me.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Perfect, thank you for the feedback on losing one that way, I will definitely keep an eye on the other one now..

i understand that these can activate during other extreme events besides actual roll over, such as wheels loosing contact with surface. I haven't tried it, but did see a video somewhere where a test driver crested a sharp rise activating these....quite a shock I bet. Manual shows how to manual activate them and reset them.
