Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Is it not just a micro switch replace rather than the whole lock module? As for difficulty, an indi quoted me an hours labour to change so I'd guess its pretty straightforward unless there's some electronic reset to do.

POST 2Original post

I was told by a specialist that it was a tricky 90minute job - maybe they under-estimated me but it didn't seem hard at all & without any instructions I did it in 40minutes, including careful re-sticking of membrane panel (didn't want to buy a new one). The whole lock was £9.99 off eBay (and is still working fine 20months later). This was the passenger side btw, I believe driver's side may be a bit more involved.

POST 3Original post

It's an easy job to replace the lock don't even think about trying to replace switch as you'll have to open up the lock springs will fly every where

POST 4Original post

I think you should replace it with a cloth pull ala 4.0RS and 2RS
