Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The situ seems to be aggrevated when hooning around twisty roads where frequent gear changes are involved and my left leg is not resting but set for next press of the clutch.

There is some instructions in the 911 manual where it says to set the seat fore-aft adjustment so that the leg is fully extended with the accelerator fully pushed down.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've had my C4S for 3 weeks and love it, great drive etc. However I have suffered from lower back pain on and off for the last 5 years. All has been OK for the last 9 months or so, but since driving the Porsche its come back. My previous car was an Audi TTS which was quite hard and low, but not to the same level. Anyone else having these issues or am I just an old git?!
Mine gave me back ache at first but now it doesn't, don't know if I just got used to it or maybe the seat has adapted to my bony backside?
Saying that I know some people have put extra padding in the lumbar area, apparently it's quite easy to do!
PS the 997 seats fit and are supposed to be both a lot more supportive and a lot more comfortable and look nice in a 996!
Mac
I found I needed more lower back support. Just put some high density foam in there, gives a decent improvement in comfort for me
Seat middle unhooks at the bottom behind the seat upright section then unclips at the top really easy to remove and refit (comfort seats)
If its right at the base of your spine you could well be over extending your leg and agrevating your sciatic nerve. Try raising the seat and sitting a little closer. You may have to alter the seat back to get more comfortable but try not to be too reclined or over upright. If you have heated seats flick them on occasionally too.
Not just you, I had the same issue & tried everything.
Since swapping to a 997 it made a massive difference.
If you intend keeping the car, my advice would be to swap the seats for a set of all electric comfort seats. The difference is chalk & cheese & a relatively easy swap!
There is some instructions in the 911 manual where it says to set the seat fore-aft adjustment so that the leg is fully extended with the accelerator fully pushed down. Might be a good place to check and start.
The pain may of course be an underlying issue being aggravated by the seat- perhaps worth getting it checked out by an osteo or somesuch specialist.
Oddly, in cycling world, people spend £100's on 'Bike Fits' but you never see it done with cars, always on trial and error basis. Maybe a good bone-man could offer a similar service to 'fit' people properly in their car seats as there is so much adjustment available these days.
It's a bloody nightmare this back ache issue- I've done 120,000 in my Skoda Fabia and never had an issue but my 991 did my lower back in
and also caused pelvic pain. There is no doubt that I had underlying health issues that contributed to the problem but the low/offset seating position of the 991 just totally did me in. I tried everything to no avail.
I'm now looking for a BMW 1M but finding one with heated seats and adjustable lumbar is proving hard......heated seats definitely helps pelvic issues and obviously having an adjustable lumbar helps for optimum comfort.
They say you should be able to rest your wrists on the top of the steering wheel-if you are sitting too far away from the steering wheel your hip flexor muscles are under constant strain.
My osteopath said I should get an automatic Land Rover Discovery for the upright seating position- I am yet to take this drastic step.
It's not just me then! After a drive out last Sunday I found myself with an acute pain in my lower back, right bum cheek and down my leg.
Will try to get a comfortable supportive seating position set up and get it into the memory pre set. The situ seems to be aggrevated when hooning around twisty roads where frequent gear changes are involved and my left leg is not resting but set for next press of the clutch. Must be getting old!
Steve
got factory hardbacks in mine and they dont go back far enough for me to get comfortable so get the same issues with more than about 30mins driving but is a sub optimal position for me in any case
for me will have to go with bucket seats to get the extra clearance, tbh i love fixed bucket seats and have fitted them to most of my cars so just an excuse to get some for the 996t
