Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Right then, this isn't the usual how to make a C2 into a GT3, as we all know the responses to that.
I'm looking for recommendations on how to make the C2 3.6 manual the best cross country fun fast transport. That tight sports car feel, but capable of handling the UK B roads.........
Things already done or in progress to be done:
RS engine mounts (made a big difference)
Swapped the Prellis for PS2s.
Hartech rebuild - full Niksil closed deck and the usual Hartech weak point fixes. go further and get the 3.9 whilst at it?
Suspension Refresh of normal stuff. anything more extreme?
Set up at Centre Gravity
CG have suggested the Koni FSD as a good fit for the refresh for those UK roads. Anyone with these or alternative recommendations
Any recommendations on brake upgrades?
Any recommednations on tightening up throttle response, or gear change?
I have just done this - new everything except track rod ends and upper rear suspension arms. I used Eibach progressive springs (minus 30mm) and Koni Special active shocks which are the updated version of the FSD's that were a common upgrade on the air-cooled cars. In my opinion its very good - it was setup to X74 spec by my local specialist with his Hunter alignment machine.
....you will probably end up cutting off some of the old stuff if its original - the bolts tend to seize into the bushes!
Well.... compared to its previously clapped out setup it now corners like a house fly!
It's very hard for me to give an opinion against a new stock setup but mine corners well with a lot less understeer feel than previously, it feels much more direct and whilst it is a hard ride its not harsh if that make sense? I believe this is a combination of both the Koni SA dampers and progressive eibach springs (as apposed to the standard springs that i think are constant rate?)
Well, I already have a 3.9 Hartech engine, M030 suspension with CG setup, Michelin PS4 tyres, 997 shifter and Type911 RS engine mounts and after all those the biggest change to how tight the car feels to actually drive came from putting a pair of Cobra Nogaro seats in it
To be honest its just tweeking whats already there to fine tune it. I dont think anything drastic is needed. As said just tightening everything up on suspension to stop any rattle etc but also having something that compliant.
Gear change for sure, Ive got the 997 one.
Question is what on the car do you think needs looked at? What doesn't quite work for you at the moment?
I'm pretty happy with most things........ After reading a few things on the GT3 and why it just feels so much better than a standard car and Chris Harris saying the steering in the 996 GT3 is the best of any car ( he was being asked if he could have any porsche what would it be)
There are cars you sit in and it just feels ideal. It makes the right noise, delivers the power how you want it and it just feels right and special when you drive it. People talk about the GT3 in those terms, but it is more track focussed.
I guess I am looking at what people have done to the standard 996 to make it that bit more special. I don't want to create a GT3, but take that sort of ethos of perfecting something for a purpose. My purpose is to make a great, point to point car on typical British roads. That handles the bumps and less than ideal surfaces, that feels a bit special.
At the min I would say I am not that far off really. but a slicker feel to the gear shift, and a bit better at coping with bumps in the road (feel more planted, without being rough) definitely what you are saying around fine tuning.
