Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had a Parrot Bluetooth kit installed today, integrated via the radio.
Leading evidence: 'Install today, integrated via the radio' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install today, integrated via the radio' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had a Parrot Bluetooth kit installed today, integrated via the radio. Initially all of the electronics seemed fine, but when I locked the car, the alarm sounded once, warning that one of the alarm contact points was breached.
All of the normal contact points were fine, including the centre armrest. It is almost certainly connected with the installation of this kit, and I am aware that the radio has some form of link to the alarm system.
Does anyone know what the issue might be ? The engineer who installed the kit is coming back out tomorrow, but I am not convinced that they know what the issue is.....so any help or advice would be appreciated.
If you have the original Porsche radio, it has an alarm contact on the mounting frame. When you pull out the radio from the frame, the contact connects to earth to signal the alarm. I suspect that they may have damaged the contact, and it is permanently earthed now. The result is that you get a single-beep on locking, just as if a compartment lid is left open.
Hi Stuart Did they remove the radio??? Not an uncommon issue do a search for RADIO and look at the comments from Richard Hamilton 29-10-09. hope that is of some use EDIT OOPS have to be quick to beat Richard
The problem appears to be resolved following a further visit from the engineer this morning. I observed what he was doing, and can summarise his explanation as follows: 1) A lead / nut on the left hand side of the frame was permanently touching the radio, this was thought to be the alarm connection referred to by Richard. 2) The lead / nut was bent back a little to ensure it did not make contact with the radio once back in place. This has resolved the issue. The radio is the CR21. So presumably, the way this works is that if someone tried to move the radio with the alarm armed, the movement would cause the radio to make contact with the lead / nut thus triggering the alarm (although I can't see how the alarm would not have been triggered already when gaining entry to the car). It that explanation does not stack up.....then it was a lucky fix ! Does this explanation make sense ?
Yes, that's exactly how it works. It seems a bit pointless to me too, unless you have a cabriolet on which you leave the hood down and lock the car. If so, you are asking for trouble anyway!
