I appreciate mine were shot, but for the cost and the improvements I saw it was a great upgrade independent of the gear change benefits

I'm about to replace my engine mounts with a set of RSS mounts but after reading that an improved shift seems to be the biggest reward, is it actually worth paying the premium for them on a tip?

Suggestion
The car now feels like it's one complete whole so I'd recommend changing the mounts....how far you go is obviously down to how you use the car.

My old mounts were shot and I could feel the engine moving around slightly when thrown into a corner or quick changes of direction.

I fitted the Type 911 RS mounts and a new gearbox mount together with the Powerflex mounts altogether the change is very crisp, quick and smooth.
Certainly not the soggy/slushy change that I keep hearing about the Tiptronic.
Oh nice one so it's still worth doing on a tip - that's good to hear. Mines not particularly bad as far as I'm aware but if I see an improvement it would be a nice addition to the supposed tauter handling.
Fitting the engine mounts certainly tightened the whole car up....when you accelerate there's no lag between pushing the pedal and the car shooting forward. The car now feels like it's one complete whole so I'd recommend changing the mounts....how far you go is obviously down to how you use the car.

Type911 is the cheapest I've found, but Design 911 advertise a price match.
I've just had these fitted to my car, although not a tip. Such a great upgrade but I was disappointed to see that it didn't really make much difference to my saggy pipe on one side.
Design 911 was the cheapest for me when I ordered about a month ago. It was slightly cheaper than Type911 once you'd applied the 5% discount code and factored in the difference in postage costs.
Ordered mine 17:10 yesterday and they arrived from D911 at 10:45 this morning which is outstanding service. They also price matched Type911 but threw in free post so decent deal really.
Just got to wait for the person that was supposedly getting up and getting out shopping first thing this morning to actually go and I can get on with getting them fitted...
Well I finally managed to get them in and get out for a brief test drive. Can't say I noticed any extra noise but my exhaust is pretty loud as it is. Harshness on normal roads barely noticeable but on bad road surfaces it is a bit more noticeable. The vibration though is ridiculous! The NS door panel, dash, windscreen and centre console are all rattling their arses off! Just got out and my legs and feet are tingling like my arms and hands used to after a day on the Kango. Hopefully it will calm down in time.
As an aside I had a snapped bolt. Barely put any force whatsoever on it and it went pretty much straight away so worth bearing that in mind if you tackle these yourself. One of my pet hates is drilling out broken bolts so I rung around for a couple of quotes. Thread doctor was pretty helpful tbh but would only do it on a ramp and would cost £125+vat. Thread Wizard said he'd done loads of these as it's pretty common but he'd need the engine removed to do it :lol: :lol: :lol:
